Erotica 34,928 Posted August 12, 2015 Share Posted August 12, 2015 The flag debate in New Zealand has been going on since the WW2 and looks like it will come to an end during the spring of 2016, due the current flag is too similar to the Australian flag.A panel has selected 40 different designs and a referendum will take place in two stages, the first one later this year and the second one in 2016. That's what's even worse, is that they aren't even groundbreakingly cool. Like I get it, 26 million isn't much to the Government and they spend a sh** tonne more than that on other things but the thing is, is that 26 million on changing the colours on a FLAG?! Like come on, are you joking?! With a country that is so proud to have benefits and a good health support systems etc and deems itself as "rich" then why are poverty percentages increasing? It's because we are spending money on sh**, meaningless projects rather than into places that need the money. Not many people even want the flag to change to begin with. It's like Besides where is that money coming from? Probably tax payers right? Well... The people at the bottom who are trying to survive day to day don't give a **** about a stupid flag because they just want to survive with their 3 kids of whatever right? Then they see this and they are all like "oh so we have high taxes that we can barely afford and this is where our money is going? No fu**ing way" - It's ridiculous. It's a shame really. The top comments on various websites were along the lines of: "Oh God no!" The panel seems to be obsessed with the same repetitive clichés.
