It's like Britney or Madonna doing a Christmas album, IMO.Katy isn't heavy dance pop like Britney and Madonna. It's more dance pop lite but she can do acoustic well.. We all.know Katy is not the best of vocalist. Her Grammy performance this year clearly shows that. Gasping for breath when taking long notes. And people were clapping just to be polite. I don't think that's been done well since Mariah and Celine's Christmas albums. Hmm...I really don't know how this will go. I just can't imagine Katy writing Christmas songs. I really hope it won't be like those painful original Christmas albums that manufactured pop acts like NSYNC and Justin Bieber have done. Thing is, covers or not, she'll be under big pressure to sing well. All the pop girls who've ever released Christmas albums can sing and some of them are regarded as some of the best vocalists ever. She's probably hoping this will be big in America and Japan, both big lovers of Christmas records and to help tide fans over until her next album which looks like it might be some time away. I think a lot of artists would like a C2C era seeing how surprisingly well it turned out. Avril and Kylie are apparently working on Christmas albums. Can a Christmas album sell in this current album climate, though? Michael Buble's was the last one I remember truly selling well worldwide (nearly 10 million). You want a new song for the single.Well, she didn't say. There are speculations that this will just be a 4-7 song EP, lots of things are a mystery still. But she said she is writing original songs.
