LG5 anti choreography

Here are a few reasons why I'm anti choreography for the next era

1. Better vocals (come on, we all know she needs to really focus on that and she'd be able to literally blow your mind)

2. Look at those weird movements. I miss that. Doesn't everyone miss that? She'd still be able to be strange on stage

3. Just look at her doing her thing. She doesn't need choreo to own a performance. Her body language says it all

im literally not even "telling her what to do" or whatever. I said I'm anti choreography and I listed reasons why I am.

I agree that decreasing the amount of choreo would be great, because I think good vocals are at the base of any good performance. And performances don't automatically become "boring" if Gaga isn't dancing. I enjoy it from time to time though, so I hope she keeps including it to a certain extent. I think she has rediscovered her own vocals with the C2C tour, so I'd say it's likely that the dancing will be more low-key next era.

I love the choreography aspect to her performances and videos though. She's the only one out of her contemporaries who incorporates dance into her work and I respect that. I don't know how I'd feel about her letting that go.

yes. Some fans here need to realize a performance isn't boring if there's no dancing.

Yeah well but I can also understand that it's simply a preference for some. There aren't a ton of artists that pull of the singing+dancing thing like Gaga does, so if she'd stop dancing there aren't that many alternatives.

I mean, some times the vocals suffer under the dancing, but other times Gaga practically kills the stage with her choreo:

So I understand it if some people would miss it. What someone looks for in an artist differs from person to person .

Yeah, she can kill it sometimes. It's a hit and miss. Cause then there's performances like this.

Especially nowadays, at least during BTW and AP eras with her unnecessary heightened use backing track, the choreo makes her voice even less audible than it already is.

Applause with choreo isn't exactly great either without a ton of help from the backing track.

I too, agree that choreo shouldn't necessarily required. She's able to captivate an audience with her voice alone.

Like someone mentioned earlier, ARTPOP at Swinefest is a perfect example.

Yeah that's definitely true. It's all a matter of being smart. Knowing where and when to use choreo, so that it supports the rest of the performance instead if overpowering it. And then there's also the matter of having a choreographer that knows how to work with vocalists.

I'm sure Gaga has improved in that regard because of the C2C era and also the hip injury. She's pretty much forced to find a way to make movement a tool instead of a hurdle.

I agree, I wouldn't mind some light choreography here and there, but I think there are other alternatives.

Well, with her hip and her desire to focus more on her vocal capabilities next era (I am assuming), there probably will be less choreography, but I don't know if she will completely do away with it. I think it depends on what type of music/singles she performs. I personally love high energy choreography BUT I also understand the artists struggles with certain notes and phrasing while in vigorous movement. I also enjoyed the Cheek to Cheek eras performances because of the amount of passion and finesse she was able to exude in a more stationary postion, so I'm cool with whichever way she goes, whether minimalist (hands and head only) or more vigorous, though I think we will see a good blending.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

No. I love her epic, tear down the stage with her ability to sing and dance, performances. She's gained respect for her amazing voice, yes, but, she's also known for her ability to perform, singing and dancing at the same time, which she does better than her contemporaries.

I love the aspect her killing the choreo brings to her big, award show performances also

I hope she leaves the dancing to her dancers.  She is still hurting from her hip injury, and it would be terrible if she makes it worse.

I live outside the space time continuum.
