Violence is okay, but s-x is treated like something shameful and terrible. It's okay to watch people get blown up, shot, stabbed or whatever, but s-xuality is wrong? ok. Your fault for putting these words into her statement. 2nd, how come you expect her to have seen the video for BBHMM? she isn't forced to see it and she might haven't yet. But saying she is" fake" for using Bad Blood as an example instead of another more violent video ... *facepalm* your attitude is rude, ignorant and far from smart I never said that she said she was a good role model. I said she was acting like it... aka she was implying that she was a good role model. Maybe it's more accurate to say that Miley was acting like she's a better role model than Taylor Swift, but... that's nitpicking. My main point was more important. Why wouldn't I expect Miley to have seen that video? Rihanna's a big artist. The video got a lot of hype. Miley has internet access. If you wanna ask Miley if she's seen the video, then go ahead. Anyways, it just seems disingenuous to come for "Bad Blood" when another video that's much more violent and similarly prominent exists. My attitude may be rude, ignorant, and far from smart, but at least I haven't called Miley a "wh*re" or a "b*tch" like some other GGD members. All in the name of art : - Miley expresses herself in a s-xual manner = a bad human being, a slut and a bad role model. - Taylor showcases violence and the use of weapons in her video and uses her fake ass feud with Katy Perry as a ploy (which means encouraging pitting women against each other) = America's sweetheart, she can do no wrong and she's a role model for every girl out there. What Miley did is not wrong and the same goes for Taylor. Yet the only one getting **** is Miley. But there isn't like...an extra flair, or social message, or ground-breaking technique, etc. It's not a bad thing, it's just an interesting thing. Fifty years from now, if someone said, "Who was Taylor Swift?" what could we really say other than "She made really catchy music about love and her look was always on fleek,"?Her undeniable lyrical mastery. :) The girl's gifted with the written word. And Miley does have a point, though. I feel like she's only using "Bad Blood" as an example. Could she be jealous? It's possible, but unless we have more material from her to read that supports that suspicion, we can't really jump to conclusions cuz this is sort of turning into a mini stan war. Future country artists will definitely cite her as influence, I can already imagine articles where they call her the inspiration for why they learned how to play a guitar and write songs. If she keeps up her pop act she could definitely be cited as influence there too.
