For most humans 1989 is her first album

Nice try, but Speak Now and Red still sold huge amounts of copies and Red got her the HUGE hit We Are Never Ever Getting Backtogether, which sounded EVERYWHERE in the radio.

Right?  KatyKats are so deluded.

Taylor already stomped all over Katy's career with her first few albums, she has nothing to prove because she is way above her.

Like, congrats - Katy had one huge era! :applause: Good for her! Taylor had 5.  :whitney:

Oh my god, then you call KatyCats deluded? Look at your own post here. :rip: They should just replace the definition of delusion on dictionary with this post of yours. It's so delsuional, it's not even funny.

I haven't laughed so hard in ages.

I just want Taylor to reach 3 more #1s with this album so they finally shut the hell up about Teenage Dream and accept the fact that she's going downhill.

Oh sugar, you sound pressed. We all know the only reason you feel this way and say these things is because you feel nothing but hatred towards Katy. Get over yourself. All the things I said in my comment can be understood by unbiased people who have common sense and have done their research.

The saltyness in this post

The pressedness

The fiction

The most hilarious thing I've read all morning, thank you :dies:

I'm not being salty or pressed, boo. And the things I said aren't fiction. I'm just being realistic. It's obvious that the reason the singles from the PRISM era didn't do well was because they were released at wrong times and didn't have proper promotion, or any promo at all. And Taylor's overexposure this era will not end well for her, and Katy was nowhere near as overexposed in the Teenage Dream era as Taylor became this era.

That's what they said about RED and... Well...

Taylor was nowhere near as overexposed in the RED era as she is now.

Just because I stan for Katy, buy her albums and go to her shows doesn't mean I found Part of Me to be good or real :later:

Then you must find every other documentary about an artist unreal? :trollga:

Lmao, you're always so full of **** about Rihanna. Like the underperformance of the #R8 era so far had anything to do with her being overexposed, the ****ing reach. :lmao:

Most people were craving for a new Rihanna bop after she didn't release for a year.

And Taylor Swift isn't overexposed either.

Actually, I think the downside of exposure started from Talk That Talk. Loud was her second peak and she released so many singles from that (and had Rated R the year before) that after the lead single from TTT was over, the public had pretty much had their fill. Where Have You Been was a hit in some of the world but it sure wasn't in the US, so she only really had one big single from that album. Only 2 big singles from Unapologetic, then everything else flopped. Even without the big break, I think the public had tired of her hugely. This was the point at which she should have released a greatest hits album and then taken a big hiatus, but she chose to make yet another studio album when it was clear the public had moved on somewhat. It's telling that the public don't seem to be calling for her to come back - only the fans care and even some of them have moved on. As an artist who has always heavily relied on casual listeners, this is bad news.

Taylor, not overexposed? Then why is there a different news story about her every day? Several #1's? More worldwide domination? Massive world tour with stadiums? Biggest-selling artist of the year? Sounds like overexposure to me.

If its a documentary produced by the artist or their team with the sole purpose of selling and advancing their brand, then yeah you can bet your ass that documentary is not going to be candid at all. Part of Me was basically a commercial. The concert and backstage scenes were really good though.

That documentary was not a thing which Katy did for commercial purpose (or solely for the most part). It was a thing which she clearly did for KatyCats, and that was her main goal with it.

"We Found Love" was massive. "You Da One" was a very weak second single with a boring video so it's only normal it didn't do much. Than the gap of four months before "Where Have You Been" got released was a bit too long (a G.U.Y. teas), but it obviously still is a hit (just not a smash hit). Most people know it, got good airplay, charted in the top 10, many youtube views, ... Definitely bigger than Applause ever was and I consider that a hit too. After that she got her first #1 album in the US. Diamonds became a worldwide smash, which was an atypical slow song for a Rihanna lead single. Then she even releases a ballad for a second single which became a big hit too. She also went on to do her biggest tour yet. After that the era got messy because of the fight with the Pour It Up video director. It seemed like there wasn't a third single. Four Five Seconds did really well for the type of song that it is, charted in the top five of allmost every country and got a lot of views with a super boring video. Showing there's still demand for her. If she released a bop for the second single, it would have been big without any problem. But it got messy again where there was no clear release of a second single. BBHMM got performed but wasn't a single. AO was released on Flopdal with a video but not performed anywhere. If she has the right song and the right marketing, there's no problem for her at all to get a hit. People aren't tired of her.

Uhm yeah Taylor is having a big era, how does that automatically mean she's overexposed? People don't mind hearing her bops, like they don't mind hearing Rihanna her bops. They don't read those articles, I don't read much about her either. People that go to her tour are fans anyway.
