Hard to tell at this point in time. I see GP comments like "Whatever happened to Lady Gaga?" "Does Lady Gaga still make music?" "Heard Bad Romance on the radio. I thought Lady Gaga wasn't relevant anymore."

When Gaga announced her engagement there were a TON of negative comments on Facebook pages other than her own, but this was before the Oscar performance that snatched everyone's weaves. Now, depending on what's going on with her, I'd say the general reception leans more towards the positive side, so I'd say that's a liiiittle bit better than her peak, where people hated her just because she was popular. I still see a lot of "her male fans are all gay" stereotype comments in some places, though.

Define "GP."  Teenagers in high school?   50 year old Tony Bennett fans?  People who only listen to Metal?   Madonna Stans?  ATRL?

I guess this entire debate about what the 'GP' thinks about Gaga is very subjective.

I stay in India .. and to be very honest with you Gaga is the MJ of this generation, she might not be on the level of popularity as she was during the TFM/BTW days in the US , but internationally she's the ONLY superstar that the world knows.. She's a cultural phenomenon .. a pop culture icon and she's a household name .. Every 8/10 ( educated )  people in this world are aware who Gaga is and even if they like her or not , they can't deny the fact that she's a global superstar .. 

I have relatives in Middle east & Europe .. even they tell me that Gaga is the only relevant International superstar that people actually know about .. Taylor swift , Nicki Minaj , Katy perry  etc are only known to few but not everyone knows about them unlike Gaga , who is the real definition of the term ' International Superstar' .. 

To answer the question if the GP thinks she's talented or not .. well, they know that she's the most celebrated artist & has won Grammy's and is super talented with a unique style. Some like her for the way she is & for some it's plain weird .. but that doesn't take away the fact that she is super talented .. I have seen Gaga being mentioned as a metaphor to anything unusual or super stylish on tons of Indian tv shows like MJ was once mentioned .. but never for once saw/heard Katy,Britney or Taylor ..  Period !
