Paper Planes 340
TOLEDO, OH - You can spot it while driving down Monroe street. "Transition to Star 105, and don't call me Caitlyn." Equality Toledo isn't laughing at all. The group is urging the radio station to take the billboard down. Nick Komives is the Executive Director of Equality Toledo. "Anyone going along with it is allowing this kind of ridicule to occur, and it needs to stop," he says. A petition on change.org was created by another group to get Denny Shaffer off the air. As of Monday afternoon, the petition had 234 supporters. On the Star 105 Facebook page, a post reads "and so it begins...we are spoofing The Vanity Fair cover." Denny Shaffer released a statement late Monday afternoon. "It's a parody of a magazine cover," he says. "I think Caitlyn Jenner is a hero, and if you listen to my show you would know that." Read more and see a video on it: http://www.13abc.com/home/headlines/Star-105-Billboard-creates-controversy--320513202.html Do you find it offensive or in bad taste? I personally do. I've issued a few statements in the past year on this particular DJ. He's fueled on homophobia but tries to cover it up (one of those "I love them like God says I should but they shouldn't marry, I don't agree with their lifestyle, I would never want my son/daughter to be gay" types). I could see it to be a joke, but given his other backwards views, I know this has to be coming from a hurtful place. That whole "I think Caitlyn Jenner is a hero" is just bull**** that he pulled out of thin air for damage control. LePetitGAGABLover 21,234
Bad taste? Yes. Offensive? Kinda. Funny? Not at all.
gagaisitalian 3,573
It's offensive for many reasons. One, it mocks transgender people. Two, it tarnishes the Caitlyn Jenner brand. Three, it's just horribly edited. Tacky, tacky, tacky.
RainingOnMe 7,280
not funny and offensive (maybe not to us but to Caitlyn).
Emvee 8,827
Offensive. You wouldn't put up a billboard of yourself in black face, pretending to be Obama. Let's not act like this isn't the same type of ridicule.
Chic 20,830
At the very least, they could have chosen a better font.

PartySick 172,484
It's in bad taste but I don't find it offensive. Tbh, I think people are too sensitive these days. It's out of character for me to say that, but according to them, they express that Caitlyn is a hero on their show. They're just trying something trendy to get attention and it fell flat, that's all. They're not attacking anyone (well, not intentionally) and as long as people blow things like this out of proportion we'll never know true equality. Whimsical bitch
SEVDALIZA 1,274
Offensive, in very bad taste, extremely poorly edited, not even slightly amusing operating from another world
ryhanna 3,507
Not smart, not clever, not even a little bit funny. What a failure.
nativenewyorker 1,190
yeah.. really bad taste. I don't know the guy or what kind of show he hosts but this just comes across as cheap and it's kinda offensive to Caitlyn.
Quasi 11,031
I don't find it funny, but I don't find it particularly offensive either. The billboard itself is capitalizing on a current event that has gotten a lot of exposure so I guess they took advantage of that to get the attention of the public. Is it necessarily attacking the trans community? No. Should it have been done? Probably not as well because it would obviously offend many people. I can't speak from experience but I just think that an ad like this shouldn't be taken too seriously. This is all taken at face value mind you so I'm not taking into account any homophobic personalities behind the ad. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas. Paper Planes 340
It's in bad taste but I don't find it offensive. Tbh, I think people are too sensitive these days. Hidden Content There's the problem: they don't express Caitlyn Jenner is a hero. This DJ has boycotted many LGBT events because of his faith and went on a 15 minute rant about how much he hates gay marriage a few weeks before it was legalized. He's blatantly lying about how he views Jenner (probably per the station's request/demand). delete it fat
Redstreak 6,653
Trying to capitalize off someone's life struggles is just horrifically sad. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
