hmm I don't trust much Rob Fusari but I recently found this info and it's kind of related to this thread...

According to Fusari, he wanted to build a track on a sample of Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger". Unable to locate the song, he chose to sample "Edge of Seventeen" instead. He wanted to replay the guitar riff himself in the studio so as not to lose publishing royalties, but group manager Mathew Knowles (father of Beyoncé Knowles) would not let him do this. He reportedly later told Fusari in response to Beyoncé's claims of writing the song, "People don't want to hear about Rob Fusari, producer from Livingston, NJ. No offense, but that's not what sells records. What sells records is people believing that the artist is everything."[7] Kelly Rowland has mentioned that "Bootylicious" is the most irritating Destiny's Child song for her since she has heard it too many times.[8] Rowland sings the majority of the lead vocals on the track.

Rob Fusari said in 2010 he alone had the idea for the song and had wanted to use a guitar riff from the song "Eye of the Tiger" but after not being able to find it used a similar riff from the Stevie Nicks song "Edge of Seventeen". After hearing Beyoncé claim credit for the song in an interview with Barbara Walters, he telephoned Mathew Knowles,

And he explained to me, in a nice way, he said, "People don't want to hear about Rob Fusari, producer from Livingston, NJ. No offense, but that's not what sells records. What sells records is people believing that the artist is everything." And I'm like, "Yeah, I know, Mathew. I understand the game. But come on, I'm trying too. I'm a squirrel trying to get a nut, too."[10]

all you have to do is suggest a word and legally you have to get writing credits though, so she could have literally suggested the odd lyric doesn't mean she wrote them all from beginning to end.

And don't get me started on how she "freestyled" the beginning of Partition but she's not listed as a writer on it at all :rip:

Plus why does she have writing credits for Ave Maria when it's originally an Italian opera song they just translated into english for a cover :rip:

lmao :rip:

I root for you. I love you. You, you, you, you.

It's very difficult to find out exactly how much input an artist had on a song but Beyonce has shown time and again that she likes to give the impression that she writes more than she actually does. Examples...

Saying live that she wrote Irreplaceable when Ne-Yo had written that song by himself. He claimed at the time it was a co-write but later admitted it was actually all his work and he even intended the song to be for himself but upon realising it would sound better for a girl, gave it to Beyonce. Notice that Beyonce is credited for the song on wikipedia followed by the word "(harmonies)." I've never seen such a credit in my life. Must have been some stretch to get her on there.

There was a bonus track on B'Day called Still In Love (Kissing You). This was a full-on cover of the Des'ree song, I'm Kissing You, which is a song in the Romeo + Juliet movie/soundtrack. No changes, just the title change. Beyonce's name is on the credits. Des'ree and her record label were furious and filed a lawsuit. The deluxe edition of B'Day was recalled and re-distributed without the song, instead being replaced by a song called If. Beyonce's dad later went on to say that Beyonce was unaware of who really wrote the song and that artists rarely involved themselves in these matters. He basically admitted that she doesn't play a part in her songs.

Beyonce also recorded a cover of Victoria Beckham's song, Resentment, on her B'Day re-release. It's a full-on cover, no changes. Her name is on the credits.

If I Were A Boy is full-on stolen. An unknown artist named BC Jean wrote it. When her label rejected it and when her record deal fell through, her label suggested her songs to other artists and Beyonce took the song, changed one word and put her name on the credits. If I recall correctly, Beyonce's name showed up on the original version of the song on the album but on the re-release, her name was taken out.

An album track on Sasha Fierce is Smash Into You. It was originally a song written by unknown artist Jon McLaughlin who decided not to put the song in his album at the last minute. Beyonce's name is on the credits despite all the lyrics remaining the same with the only difference being the title, which was originally Smack Into You.

Beyonce also recorded a cover of Honesty by Billy Joel for the Sasha Fierce re-release. It's a full-on cover, no changes, but her name is on the writing credits. No comments made by Billy, however.

Run The World (Girls) samples a song called Pon De Floor by Major Lazer. When the song was originally released, there was no mention of his name in the production credits despite sampled artists always being credited. It is now, but not originally.

I think that's it. Seven writing credit controversies in a 12 year career. 6 of which came from just 2 albums respectively. That is bad. I don't mind people liking Beyonce, but be realistic. She is not a songwriter but likes to pretend she is. Changing one word isn't songwriting and vocal arrangements and harmonies are most definitely not. Trying to tell yourself otherwise is just denial. Beyonce is not the flawless being her fans like to believe she is. I'm always distrustful of anyone who tries to present themselves as perfect as it's never true and I was dead right about her.

Spot on. That's some stellar research there. I had no idea she was so blatantly uninvolved.

I'm not a hater for saying that's a bunch of crap :lmao:

No way did she write that many songs...even Gaga wrote like crazy for ARTPOP and that was only 100 songs she said...

I know Beyonce has been in the industry longer than her, but still...that to me isn't the WHOLE truth...it's like a white lie...a technicality based on her suggesting maybe a verse...a line...a melody or beat...the title...anything, but to come up with the majority of the concept and writing of 230 songs? :usrs:

Definitely believe that Beyoncé takes credits where she can get them, but some of you are spreading misinformation on Ave Maria. Sure, the original tune is a classic Catholic Roman Catholic song with lyrics in Latin, but in no way are the lyrics in Beyoncé's version translations of the original. They are completely original and have a total different meaning. This is in no way to say that she is responsible for them, but saying they simply "translated into english" is terribly wrong.

"Written"

She probably can't even hold a pen, yet alone "write" all those songs

I dont even know if she can read which explains why a lot of her IG posts have no captions.

Who cares how much she writes, the thing is that she WRITES, she puts at least some effort into her songs, plus she sings, she dances and the list goes on and on, a tru multifaceted star and legend!

I'm not even a Beyonce fan but you guys are so bitter over her, because in all honesty when that woman hits the stage all our faves are reduced to dust! Even the fabulous artist this site is dedicated to... :miley:

This is so not true. The Stevie Wonder tribute proves it as well. Gaga outsang her in every way. Beyonce has unmatched technique but Gaga has much more soul and her music is just more unique-coloured. And actually Gaga never turned to dust when Beyonce hit the stage, like never.
