Being an artist and making music is not a popularity contest. Who cares about Katy Perry, seriously.

yes that's why we've had the charting system since 1952...

it's redundant now because it's the new boring trend to have brass on a dance/hip-hop record now

It's more recycled trend from the past than new, so it will always come around.

Artists just have to know how to compose them.

Jazz instruments don't necessarily imply jazz music. It's a given that some of the C2C era will transfer to LG5, because that's where Gaga is getting her inspiration from. But I think that any jazz influence will be combined with a more modern/futuristic sound.

Remember how TEOG started out as a soft piano ballad?

exactly, music comes back around and becomes popular again like the house music trend that was slotted in between r&b and the pop music (britney etc) we traditionally know in the 90s has come back around just with a slight reinvention

Gaga incited social change, practically lead the gay rights movement for a few years, made the music industry her b---h in 2009 basically defining music for the first half of the 2010s. Even if she disappeared tomorrow, they'd still talk about her in 30 years.

And Katy Perry is definitely the Cyndi Lauper, I'm sorry. :sis:

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?

her accolades outside of music don't matter to the regular person who isn't part of the groups they're for, for example she's not seen as caring for the black community currently, and Cyndi Lauper has a lot of gay rights activism much more than madonna but madonna is remembered more. why? because she knew how to sustain her career (else she wouldn't be on our lips in 2015). And she didn't incite social change she just helped push change, but fans act as if she single handedly overturned DADT or single handedly made same-s-x marriage legal etc. She didn't she just helped push for it among young people.

Oh the overreactions...

So, when she uploads a pic of her on the piano you all think: OMG NO GAGA ACOUSTIC ALBUM NOOOO YOU ARE GOING TO DIE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY!!!!!!!

I mean... making a song is more complex than that. But oh well... just because there is a trumpet and she is singing doesn't mean the final song is going to be a trumpet with drums :flop:

anyway, lets say that there are trumpets/saxos. That would be such a bad thing right... oh wait, TEOG starts playing.

This album is her make or break album in terms of proving if she's truly a legend or icon and coming back strong or fall into irrelevance and become the Cyndi Lauper to Katy's Madonna.

Everyone said the same about ARTPOP tho :toofunny:

C2C era has only brought good things to her carreer and status, i don't get how anyone cannot see it.

What sis?

The only fans she gained with C2C are 65+ and a lot of her fans got bored and left the fandom since the appeal of jazz it's minuscule to most of her following.
