Gaga and "unknown" Producers...

Up till this point every LG solo album has used essentially "unknown" (at the time) producers heavily.  In fact she's tended to transition each album to one of the minor producers of previous albums.  TF/M RedOne, BTW Garibay/DWJS, AP DJWS/Zedd/Madeon.   I think it's pretty obvious that this has contributed quite heavily to Gaga's work mostly sounding different than the gigantic pile of Guetta/Luke/Martin stuff which makes up like 80% of pop music production.  And Obviously Gaga has a big hand in the productions as well, guiding the sound much more than other pop stars tend to.  Thats why so much of her music has a harder, darker, rock based edge than what usually ends up on pop radio.

Assuming that LG5 will likely still be heavily influenced with electronic sounds, I was kinda hoping she'd upgrade Zedd or Madeon to Exec producer for the next album, especially since Zedd is very musical and doesn't just think in "beats."    I'm a bit dissapointed that RedOne appears to be having a major role, but I'm hoping that He and Gaga are both going to challenge themselves to change the musical landscape, and not just try to put out BR 3.0.   I still hope that we will hear from some "unknown" producers that are willing to be experimental.  I don't want Gaga repeating herself, and I for sure don't want her sounding like most of the stuff everyone else is putting out.

Of course, if she switches genres then all bets are off, but I doubt LG5 will completely shift.  I'm guessing more likely she'll blend Rock and Electronic together, but more towards the rock side this time,  unlike BTW which was much more Electronic with some Rock influences, and will probably be much less straight dance pop.  But I guess we'll see for sure when it comes out.

I have to give Gaga credit for going on four albums now without ever repeating herself. As you said, each album is distinctive unto itself, and each one has been fine-tuned so as to not sound like everyone else.

i don't think gaga is the reason for all of their success

I'm pretty sure I said nothing of the sort anywhere in that post.   But she certainly hasn't been using "producers du jour" when the albums were put together.

Sis everyone who isn't RedOne is irrelevant tbh

I much prefer DJWS.  I could also live with Gaga just declaring DJWS the "official" Haus producer and let him do all her albums, tbh.

Besides "relevance" has nothing to do with music quality.

Poker Face, Bad Romance and Judas say hi.

I agree that these unknown/uncommonly-used producers help give Gaga her unique sound. That's why she stands above the rest in the dance-pop world.

Well, yes, these three do share a common DNA for obvious reasons. But it's okay in this case, because each track is considerably wilder and more expansive than the one before it.

Yeah, this is something I've always appreciated about her. I like that she's so willing to experiment with new sounds and styles, rather than running to big-name producers or even just sticking with what she's comfortable with.

It'd be so easy for her to like working with RedOne, like the songs they make together, like the smashes they make together, and just keep making music together until it gets stale. But she hasn't done that. She let him do a little work on Born This Way, and a tiny bit on ARTPOP, but for the most part their work together between 2010 and 2015 has been pretty minimal.
