Every pop star wants to be the next Madonna.

As Madonna sad " It take a real man to fill mu shoes"

That sounds kinda s-xist and even transphobic. :deadbanana:

What is interesting is how some people who bash Madonna regularly are now indirectly recognising her as the benchmark for so many things in pop music :teehee:

Didn't people say that about Gaga 5 years ago, and then about Katy 1-2 years ago, and now Taylor? Plus isn't this a bit rude considering Madonna's alive, like Madonna's the Madonna of our generation :deadbanana:

I respect Taylor Swift, but why do medias feel obliged to search for a new Madonna ??

Madonna is THE Queen of Pop and will always be. No one will take her throne. Especially all those girls who are where new born (or  not) when madonna impacted the World with Like a Virgin :rip:

No shade to anyone. But Madonna has such an awesome and iconic career and deserves her title.

Taylor is an excellent songwriter (I have no use for her as a vocalist) but what has she done with her music or image that can be described as ballsy, innovative, button-pushing, iconic, or unique?

Nothing.

Society always had to compare things to the past as "**** is the new ***" and it's really stupid.

Madonna is and always will be the queen of pop as much as some of the people on this forum want do discredit her she did have a massive influence on popular culture and is after all at number 4 on the list of most successful musicians of all time  :crossed: Taylor is great and all but nowhere near to be considered a legend

Lady Gaga is definitely not the Madonna of our generation, let Taylor Swift be it.

Lady Gaga will be the Michael Jackson of our generation.

it's too late for that :green:

She's not a better dancer than Michael, but she has some thing that Michael never had. She has a better fashion sense than Michael Jackson. She's a fashion icon, she's more diverse in pulling different looks and themes. She creates fictional eras for herself and has created multi-personalities in herself. She's an artist.

She doesn't sing like Michael, but that doesn't mean she's not a great singer. Ever heard of Cheek to Cheek? Michael and Gaga are not exactly the same artists but Gaga has contributed substantially to the music industry and can be regarded as an artist who has some real talent and is not here to fck around. They both had/have enormous impact in the music world.

The first paragraph is completely and utterly irrelevant to as of why Gaga's the MJ of our generation. And you simply cannot compare the fashion sense of a male with a female's.

I didn't say she's not a good singer, I said she lacks a recognizable voice.

You're correct, MJ had an enormous impact in the music world, Gaga, however, did not.

You simply do not define "recognizable". What makes your definition to that the standard one? I can view her voice as a recognizable one.

Gosh, one of the best things Lady Gaga is known for is her fashion, if you're going to deny that you're delusional. Just because male artists have a disadvantage in the fashion field doesn't mean females cannot be acknowledged of this because "this is not beneficial to male artists". It's completely nonsense. He wasn't that established in terms of fashion, I'm not blaming him for that, I was just simply acknowledging Gaga's effort.

Again, YOU define "enormous impact".
