Article: Taylor Swift is the Madonna of our generation!

Pop

Featured Posts

They literally have nothing in common aside from being able to sell music like crazy. Madonna was defined by being super revolutionary, cutting edge, boundary pushing and influential. Taylor lacks all of those qualities to be quite honest. No disrespect to Taylor, she seems like a sweet girl, but comparing her to Madonna is delusional, misled and lazy.

Madonna is also known for being gimmicky, relying on the shock factor and selling s-x.

While Taylor is known for writing her own music since she was a child, being an inspiration to her young fans and being classy.

oh really, can you tell me all the impacT she has in the world, 'cuz i really don't know, maybe i live in another planet or something

They are opposite artists. Madonna used s-x and controversy to sell, Taylor is super wholesome. Madonna runs towards controversy, Taylor avoids it. Madonna is aggressive, Taylor is kind. They both reached the top and slayed, but using different approaches.

Taylor could potentially be bigger than Madonna as she is only 25 and Madonna did not slay until she was 26 with Like A Virgin. Also, Michael Jackson was immensely huge during Madonna's peak and kind of overshadowed her. Who is overshadowing Taylor now? The male singers of Taylor's generation are awful and she is grotesquely outselling them, singles, albums and ticket sales wise.

Madonna has had amazing longevity and while Taylor has been incredibly successful for almost 10 years, she has a long way to go. But has been consistently and only getting bigger and international with each album, so Taylor is not done dominating. At all.

She already had her flop era. Speak Now in 2010. A flop era consisting of a Grammy Award winning album that sold 5M copies WW, is certified 4 time platinum, where almost every song charted on the BB100 and are at least 2 times platinum. Oh and a sold out world tour.

If she has another flop era like that, I'm here for it

Perhaps it's the fact that because of her, Apple decided to pay each and every artist who will be streaming on Apple Music, and she was able to effectively pull her catalog of music from the biggest streaming service on the planet and still make basic, and perhaps because she's the only artist that people will literally spend copious amounts of money on to see live/simply buy her album. She is the ultimate star of this decade, there is no denying that, and if you deny it, it's simply because you don't want it to be true. NO other artist is doing what she's doing, they only wish to be. She's the only artist that successfully completely switched genres. She now has millions of pop fans to join her millions of country fans. Don't be so delulu. She is the biggest name in music right now. People are always talking about her, good or bad. She has been in the headlines for nearly a decade. Accept it.

Not to mention she has been named the most charitable star alive right now, so think of the millions she is giving to charities. That's certainly making an impact on thousands of human beings. And don't forget she single-handedly flew 200 fans to her homes to throw secret parties.

And if you read all of this and still want to argue, go head, but I'm done replying to any delusional Gaga fan on this post because y'all are simply perched and jealous of Taylor.

That was bull****, i always thought they were gonna pay anyways, she's just an obnoxious b---h that loves to speak on each and every subject in the world,

The fact that she said she did it for the 'indie' artists is a fallacy, an artist indie never be able to get a decent amount of money with reproductions, in fact, helps more to come forward and take their music out there to that others know and hear, but Saint Taylor Swift does it for them and the 10 cents they will receive, she the Queen of indies and poor people saved the world, not really, she's just overrated & greddy, perhaps Apple was going to pay anyway, is just they were not in for the meltdown & b---hy attitude to get backlash just as Tidal

Shes "charitable" just to create an image, when a lot of fans and people bash her for the enormous demands made by the use of his image, including gifts made by fans

Ok, whatever, but Swifties are waaaay more delusionals tbh, believe the **** u want, i really don't care

Well, Taylor is definitely an "It" girl. She's beautiful, stylish, extremely successful, and I'm sure parents every where are all breathing a huge sigh of relief that she isn't provocative or controversial. But I'm always hesitant to compare one artist to another, especially one with a much longer/older career. It's not that Taylor hasn't been doing very well, she's been doing phenomenally well, it's just that her rise comes in a very, very different world than Madonna's. Her artistry is vastly different as well. Other than both of them having such great success in terms of see-able "profits":sales, views, charts, marketing, etc, there really isn't a fair comparision, and even then you have to factor the different challenges that came from the time periods (different ideals, economic climate, technology, etc). Plus, by calling Taylor the "next Madonna" that's, in a sense, cheapening Taylor's own identity in the music world, an identity she crafted through different influences (and not just in pop/music culture) and labors. Because of this, there can only ever be one Madonna as she fought different battles in a different cultural landscape, was innovative in different ways, and is musically and visually very different. But that's not trashing or demeaning Taylor by a long shot. There will only ever be one Taylor, because of the generation/world where she was made. Each well known performer, unless a blantant rip off artist, will craft their own identity and place in music history. How long or prominantly they will be remembered remains to be seen, but to say someone is the next "anything" kind of diminishes their value, I feel. Each artist should be measured for their own contributions to music and pop culture. I think Taylor is on a very excellent streak, and maybe she will continue well into retirement. Who knows? But let's congratulate her based on her own merits and impact, solely, and not worry about playing "catch up" to another artist.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Im from Mexico & the 90% you see on MTV we have it too, it's not my fault that she were local all the time, IF she really is the next Madge, we sure would known about her, even if i'd lived in the middle of nowhere, i bet Madge and HER IMPACT can be found there, just as other big pop divas, but Taylor, she's just a little brat who is lucky to be famous with ha 1989 era
