I mean, what it really comes down to is whether or not Anaconda was actually as good of a video that Nicki thinks it is...

While I agree Nicki started off with a weak argument about body type, once she combined it/brought up the race issue, it made sense. Anaconda, in a sense, did the same thing Wrecking Ball did. When people in this thread mentioned "revolution", I'm almost positive they meant a media revolution. And that's true. Anaconda was as inescapable as Miley's Wrecking Ball, and Miley became MTVs sweetheart (case and point: she's hosting this year). I think Nicki's issue has to do with her recognizing the similar cultural impact she and Miley had, while seeing only Miley get praise and, in the end, both a nomination and award for VOTY. The main, general differences there is skin color and body type. And those are the differences Nicki had a problem with.

Taylor really had nothing to do with it. Anaconda and Bad Blood are both great tracks/videos, but they couldn't be any more different. Taylor happened to fit the "skinny girl" comment so I can see why she assumed it was about her, but she wasn't personally attacked. Nicki was referencing something she found to be an issue with MTV itself, not Taylor specifically.
