I remember a cop from Sweden came to nyc for vacation and he saw a fight of two minorities and he broke up the fight successfully without weapons. Not saying all swedish cops are good since I've never been to Sweden but it seems like cops in America always go to the extreme with weapons to an unthreatening suspect. But in this video, what really impressed me is how the women went out of her way to antagonize the cop. First, he only gave her a warning, when he could have gave her a ticket if he was prejudiced against her. He asked her nicely, said please, to put her cigarette out. Cop was doing his job, he shouldn't have to deal with second hard smoke, that's simple courtesy. Aslo you're supposed to obey basic requests of a cop like that Yeah, cop should have given her another chance with more explanation before ordering her out of the car. He's partly guilty of escalating the situation. But when he does so repeatedly, she should know that resisting will get her into trouble. By the time the "epilepsy good" comment is made, she's cursed him and said much worse. Beyond that, it's hard to see if he used excessive force off camera or if she kicked him as he claims. Even if she was a rich white celeb, that pattern of behavior would get her arrested. In normal countries, cops don't just snap like that. He could've just given her a warning or a ticket. But he didn't. He was looking for a reason to drag her out of the car, she knew her rights and asked was she arrested and why, 14 times! He didn't give a proper answer. In the documents it says the reason for arrest was "assault on a public servant", but he told her she was arrested already when she was in the car! And nothing she said can justify what he said and did. He was the one with the gun and authority, he slammed her face to the ground. First it was put your cigarette away, then put your phone away - so her friend can't hear what's happening, then put your glasses away. She was talking about going to court. Luiz 4,253 Posted July 23, 2015 Share Posted July 23, 2015 watched the video of the arrest. same type of thing happened to me. i was a passenger and my brother didnt signal a turn and we were pulled over. cop had me get out of the car and he handcuffed me for literally nothing but i just did what they said and it went pretty smoothly. crazy how some situations can escalate so easily I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. I am delighted to hear that! The misconception about the police comes from our strong need to report corruption, unfortunately then all police wind up generalized, which is ridiculous. You rarely hear about their good deeds because that's just them doing their job, kind of like doctors, nurses, firefighters, and teachers. The bad rep really bothers people like my dad, who prides himself on his honesty and his partners are all the same. Often these bad cops slide through the system due to politics, and they cause almost as much trouble on the inside as they do to innocent members of the community. These baddies break the trust of the community. Above all else the community needs to be able to depend on our men and women in blue (in some cases black or tan). My dad is as dependable as they come and it makes his job extremely difficult if good people become reluctant to aid in investigations or arrest because of mistrust. When Katrina hit a good many of our officers volunteered to aid in security and recovery in Mississippi and Louisiana just because.I also want to add that under no circumstances should that car cam have been turned off. I'm glad that this is being heard of throughout the U.S. Because I'm sick of the corruption and cover ups. We'll only be able to tolerate so much before this country implodes on itself. He cannot tell her to do so especially in her own car. He also threatened to drag her out. Another violation along with threatening her with violence.
