Sorry but thinking J&D would be a huge hit is delusional even if the worlds population were just straight :rip:

And, male hip-hop/rap is pretty much almost everything I listen to, and J&W is not good at all. My ears really hurt.

THIS!

All of my trap-aficionados friends think JnD is trash, and they're not even talking about specifically about Gaga's parts. Twista still is the best part of it all.

No. Jewels N' Drugs just isn't a good song...and you obviously haven't been to a college night at a gay club, because "gay twinky bottoms" are constantly dancing and twerking to hip hop music.  It's not about liking or not liking hip hop music....it's just a bad song....  I have straight friends that groan every time it comes on shuffle and remark how try hard and stupid it sounds.   Do my straight friends represent the entire GP? No.  But under you're logic they do

well, the OP's assumptions are so messy... :laughga:

My best friend, who is hetero loves, JnD. As a matter of fact the only songs he likes are Sexx Dreams, JnD and DWUW. He wasn't impressed with ARTPOP but he loves Born This Way even more than me....

Soo actually I just proved that there isn't statistically singnifiant :awesome: correlation between s-xuality and music preference. :emma:

i like all the gay rap like brooke, azealia, and kreay, but i also enjoy tupac, dr dre, and kanye, i enjoy JnD because it's a great mix, Gaga's vocals are kind of Brooke Candy in JnD but the verses are rap, they talk about d--gs and s-x and they aren't shy about it, 3 male rappers who are for straight audiences with Gaga is a great mix, in my opinion. people want female rappers on it, but i think that would have gotten rid of it's variety, it would have been girly gay rap instead of heavy rap with a great trap beat, i think it's a great song

J&D is a little cringey, tbh.

But I really like Rap/Hip-Hop and so do most of my straight friends, so we're comparing it to good stuff from the actual genre.

If J&D took itself seriously and if Gaga herself didn't say it was her being a "typical white girl," (or something like that), I'd say it's tryhard. But it's more of a fun song than anything so.

Regardless, it's rather silly to say one s-xual orientation loves a song and that their orientation is related to that.
That would imply that someone's s-xual orientation affects how their brain interprets sounds, making songs like J&D more appealing to them. Does that make sense? Not really.
You could argue there's a cultural preference for straight people to prefer rap music in general since it's typically geared towards them, but outside of the Rent-a-Rappers on the track I don't know that the song genuinely has a typical "Rap" feel.

(Are we really on page 13 of this conversation? :smh:)

As a straight person, let me just say ew no. Also my lesbian BFF loves J&D so no again. Also let me just yet again dispel the myth that all of gagas fans are twinkly teen gay boys. Maybe most of this site and Twitter/social media stanning is, but if you actually go to her concerts and release parties it's a lot of straight girls too and plenty of adults. Basically just no to your whole thing.

My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <3

I realize there are many exceptions. But certain artists do target different demographics.

Im saying J&D is better than what GGD is making it out to be. And that they're just saying that because they are MOSTLY twinky bottoms whom are MOSTLY not into serious rap

I'd argue that people into serious rap wouldn't be psyched about J&D. It's a fun song, but not one I'd take seriously.

fair enough. But you have to admit, there is a correlation. i think gays in general are mostly into pop rather than rap (and there's nothing wrong with that).

Which is why i say J&D would be more popular with the mainly-hetero GP rather than GGD

Only if they took it seriously, though. I don't know that many would, especially with cultural appropriation being a Hot Topic. It might give Gaga the opposite kind of attention we'd want. In some ways I feel GGD praises J&D more than the GP would.

I do agree that in general rap is more popular with heteros-xual than homos-xual peopl, but I wouldn't apply that generalization to specific songs- especially one like J&D.

I forgot you had to be a bottom and abhor rap/trap music to be gay

Here's my queer-card, I'm gonna go get me some big-booty girls with nice personalities :usrs:

I'm right here, hon.

How am i pigeonholing? :gayhat:

Generalizations are only wrong if theyre not statistically significant. Mine are. :gayhat:

What's your p-value? :fat:

It's more about the audience. Lots of people on GagaDaily have been fans of her since The Fame days, and that's the kind of music they like (very club, very dancey, kind of sweet, quintessential pop star radio ear worm sound). Jewels N Drugs is a very large departure from that. Also there are lots of Gaga fans that like the music of Katy, Taylor, Megan, Britney, etc, and by-and-large the sounds those pop stars produce are all radically different from Jewels N Drugs. Also, look at how many became upset that she used rock vibes for BTW, are scared she may go more rock on the next album, and hate Cheek to Cheek. Generally I think you can see why, sound wise, they may not be into a song like JND, which is rap and has kind of a slow, heavy sound, and isn't catchy.

Outside of GagaDaily, Jewels N Drugs seems to get a very polar reaction from most people I've met. Myself, I'm still on the fence about it. Some days I'm bopping away to it, others I'm cringing. It's just one of those songs.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
