Snow 1,582
And Gaga combined what artists in both pop and rock world did before her into one package and she even did it better than some others. And yes, people do talk about those artists and their contributions. They too deserve the credit. but she is far far away from being first or any kind of pioneer in anything... In ANYTHING. Ofcourse she is great and helped bring back dance music and "The circus"(not alone). That's ALL.And ofcourse ALL those great artists that you mentioned deserve credit. However, you don't comprehend how huge of a pioneer Madonna was. She did create what a pop star is today.
craig 680
Diplo has something in common with Perez Hilton. Both born 1978.Too young to have any living memory of pop before Madonna, but perfect age to be deeply impressed by Madonna Imperial Phase in the late 80's and early 90's. craig 680
And which year were you born exactly?1968 - same as Kylie Minogue. So I liked Madonna from when Lucky Star was on radio, but I was already 15 and had plenty of pop memories by then.

However, you don't comprehend how huge of a pioneer Madonna was. She did create what a pop star is today. But Madonna is also far from being a pioneer in many things that are attributed to her. The thing about Madonna is that she used the fame and power she gained with her looks and fresh sound, to later do things that other artists would do without having such a spotlight on them. Madonna did and does have a lot of balls.Although I agree very much with your very last sentence, she incorporated didfferent elements form different artists, singers, actresses, etc to create her own formula, and that very formula is the one that preveils to this day.So to me, all the artists that the anti-Madonna guys have mentioned in this thread, are scientists that created each different substances and Madonna is the big lab that took all of them and created a powerful medication that was sold to the masses. She lost the patent in the new millenium and ever since we have thousands of generic labs trying to replicate that formula by adding a substance of their own. NOTE: I don't mean generic in the way most peole use it here, it's just a reference. At the end she IS a pioneer, but in the formula, not the substances. androiduser 7,438
but if we live in the world of ageism, didn't Madonna create that as well? She got famous when she was young, and now she's pretending to be young again..... creator and promoter of ageism.and let's not forget all the wars and the aids epidemic that have occurred since her arrival on the scene. So trying to debunk her originality by claiming that she stole others' look is completely and utterly useless in a sense that it does not even address what made her an original in the first place.
