Probably like a third of the people on food stamps smoke.taxes for low income brackets in North America are already extremely low. In fact the tax brackets u once proposed would uave the poor paying more then they currently do i earned only $30,000 last year (did part-time for a few months) and my tax rate was only 15% in fact the first $11,000 here in Canada is basic non-taxable income if you are single and/or if your legal mate doesnt earn income also i agree on higher minimum wage tho Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The employer will just pass the higher minimum wage onto the consumer. Higher wages but you also get higher prices to pay as a consumer than you did before. Walmart plans to raise its minimum wage in February without raising prices? A few dollar increase would not cause a skyrocket in prices, but it would put more money into pockets of employees who would then feel more secure in making purchases, putting more money back into the system. If anything CEO's kinda need a pay cut. Since the 40's minimum wage kept steadily increasing along with productivity until about the 80's when it suddenly flatlined even though productivity still increases to this day. Not hard to figure where that money went...Walmart made the decision on their own, it wasn't mandated. Secondly their decision doesn't affect every store. Some locations are struggling revenue wise and have plenty of unemployed people living nearby. Other stores , which are getting higher wages, are competing with other companies to get service employees. The law of supply and demand dictates. Gov. Interference with the s&d balance ultimately backfires and does more harm to the overall economy than what was intended. Look at the u.s. If you're not all of those things and you want to be a member of their party, you have to commit identity suicide. The GOP is unbelievably disgusting.
