On Instagram Lana did say that songs on the album have a 'muddy trap energy' which I'm really excited for, I think she's talking about her and the Weeknd's work. People seem to have really unnatural expectations for musicians these days. Lana is steadily releasing quality music that will speak to a certain group of sullen Morrissey loving gay boys and sensitive Sylvia Plath reading fäg hags for generations to come. She doesn't have to change her sound or concern herself with the twitter generations need for constant artistic rebranding. Just enjoy the music, or dont. I think the song is ok, but it's not the kind of thing I'll listen to twice...I'm not that into her (never was) so what I'm about to say I say as a distant observer (so I might be wrong), but she makes such an effort in trying to be "cool" and keeping her persona on all the time, that she becomes so bland...there's not much personality or spontaneity in her songs or videos...it's all so formally acceptable, but at the same time deprived of "life"...idk...again, it might be just an impression...
