Iran nuclear talks: 'Historic' agreement struck

It's not a threat to Israel lol. Israel has one of the most extensive nuclear bases in the world and has done all it could to dismantle any nuclear threat surrounding it. Israel is widely believed to be the single country in the Middle East that has a nuclear weapon, presumably since the 60's.

That said, I share your mistrust for Iran (and all the other powers that agreed actually).

You're right, that's not a secret Israel is even believed to hold some Thermonuclear weapon. But Israel's situation is different from Iran. Israel is tiny and surrounded by enemies. I'm not only speaking my mind when I say Israel had to have some kind of technological superiority to intimidate its many enemies. Also very important is that Israel never threatened to wipe another country off the map by using it, and as far as I know Israel only considered using it capabilities when it had almost nothing left to lose (like at the start of the 1973 war for example). you can read more about it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samson_Option

Exactly. It's like the West completely ignored the human rights in Iran and by what fascists that country is ruled. :smh:

That's the price you pay for oil transport.

Thanks, gonna look into that. And I agree that the situation is different, but that still doesn't mean Iran poses a threat to Israel imo

It will be better when the Arrow 3 anti-ballistic missile will be finally usable but even then we better not have Iran with nuclear weapon. Damn it sounds scary when I'm only thinking about that. :wtf:

Really...where?

The main threat of nuclear attack is actually the U.S.  whether or not Israel has one is less important since the U.S. has shown the capability and willingness to use it in war.  In fact, the threat of a U.S. nuclear strike keeps the Russian military out of the region right now.

Agreed about the U.S. I was only talking about a threat to Israel.

As to where: submarine fleet and their missiles buried, deep enough so that they would survive a surprise attack. The last real research about it is from 2007 after which was established that Isreal would have about 80 intact nuclear weapons: 50 for missiles, 30 for aircraft transport. The famous Mordechai Vanunu even claimed Israel possessed thermoneuclear weapons in the Negev desert.

Everyone in this thread is such a frequenter of these topics :neyde:

I hate to ask for information, but can someone tell me why this is controversial? Doesn't this prevent potential nuclear war in some way? :duck: There's obviously a lot more to it than that and that may not even be correct but I know very little on the subject so looking up things is laborious :saladga:

So is paying Iran in compensation for not having nuclear weapons immoral because of what they may do with said money? Is it still acceptable to say that trying to prevent Iran from getting Nuclear Weapons is still a good idea though at heart? :duck: Or is that unfeasible

I've been seeing media coverage of this all day, but its mostly been extreme criticism from right-winged conservatives which is through a thick lens of bias, so im having trouble distinguishing criticism with actual basis to it.

Far right proponents seem to want war.  This agreement slows Iranian research and development of Nuclear technology.

The contriversy:  Iran says their nuclear research is for peacefull uses...

The west in general and Israel especially doesn't trust them at all.

The west want to inspect Iranian military and nuclear sites....

Iran wants to prevent the west from seeing their secrete

military activities, which is normal. They don't want foreign

powers finding any weaknesses they may have.

Iran wants sanctions lifted to their economy can recover.

China and Russia and Europe in general want to trade

because it helps their economies too.

U.S. right wing and Israel don't want Iran to have any money at

all because they will use it to fund terrorism or enemies of the

                           western allies.

anyway this means more saturation in oil market

Plus China's economy and manufacturing is slowing reducing some demand...some annalists are predicting a complete price collapse back to 10 and 20 dllr a barrel...

I think that is a reach tho,  would have to have total peace in the Middle East for oil to drop that low imo...

Total peace in the Middle East will come when Iran Israel and Saudi Arabia all sit down and sing coom by yah for a while ..... lol

I don't really trust Iran either - and neither do I trust Russia with the bombs Iran has to give them, but I think this deal will actually lower the amount of nuclear power Iran has. They have to stop funding every single shiite group in the Middle East, though :saladga:

So is Iran potentially using this to fund terrorism + enemies worse than them trying to build nuclear weapons :saladga:

I find it interesting that the U.S.'s right wing are on this side. One hand they are very "DOWN WITH TERRORISM, YASS" and would go to war to do so, but ive been seeing the argument proposed as in,  "we are against this because Iran cannot be trusted; they will take this money and use it to harm innocent people in other nations", which seems slightly disingenuous to their real reasons  On the same side, some are saying that the agreement is unlikely to be of any use because the agreement doesn't specify that america has FULL access to their workings, only conditional... but seeing as how no one has read this thing in full yet, i dont trust that either :emma:
