Luiz 4,253
World powers have reached a deal with Iran on limiting Iranian nuclear activity in return for the lifting of international economic sanctions.Iran's foreign minister called the agreement "historic". The EU negotiator hailed it as "a sign of hope".The deal reportedly gives UN nuclear inspectors extensive but not automatic access to sites within Iran.Negotiations between Iran and six world powers - the US, UK, France, China and Russia plus Germany - began in 2006.The so-called P5+1 want Iran to scale back its sensitive nuclear activities to ensure that it cannot build a nuclear weapon.Iran, which wants crippling international sanctions lifted, has always insisted that its nuclear work is peaceful.EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said the deal was "a sign of hope for the entire world"."It is a decision that can open the way to a new chapter in international relations," she said, ahead of a final meeting between negotiators in Vienna. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the deal was "not perfect for anybody'', but that it was the "best achievement possible that could be reached".Iran's President, Hassan Rouhani, tweeted: "With this unnecessary crisis resolved, new horizons emerge with a focus on shared challenges."The text of the deal has not been released but these are some of the details it is believed to contain:A compromise over the inspection of sites within Iran, the Associated Press quotes a diplomat as saying - UN inspectors would be allowed to monitor military sites but Iran could challenge requests for accessIran has accepted that sanctions could be restored in 65 days if it violates the deal, Reuters cited diplomats as sayingA UN arms embargo and missile sanctions would remain in place for five and eight years respectively, Reuters reportsSanctions in areas including oil and gas trading, financial transactions, aviation and shipping will be lifted and billions of dollars of Iranian assets unfrozen, Iranian media report I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. Didymus 34,380
Meanwhile Greece is pushed into a black hole. Fabulous."its nuclear work is peaceful"Hilarious. How peaceful can it be if you'll bar UN inspectors from chosen areas.

Dolev 867
Embrassing day for the free world which just surrendered to the idea of an Islamic-terror with nuclear capablities. Obama gave away way too much just for the sake of bragging such a fake "achievement".

The only possible other alternative is nuclear war though This deal actually limits the possibilities of Iran using nuclear weapons. If you really wanted them to convince Iran to simply hand them over, I'm afraid you overestimate something

But, we can bomb them when we want, they can still make some nuke material, and now they have more money to fund terrorist activites, like Hamas, Hezbola, the Yemen doods ect.. like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. And U.S./Israeli air strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities doesn't need to be nuclear either. Those reserves are the only reason the agreement involves a compromise from those world powers, I'm guessing.

If you really wanted them to convince Iran to simply hand them over, I'm afraid you overestimate something They don't have a nuclear weapon yet. US airstrike on few major nuclear reactors across Iran combined with the continuation of financial-sanctions & targeted killings of nuclear scientists in Iran that are a part of their armament plans could stop it or at least make it not very worthy, as the Ayatollahs would know the world won't let them do anything they want. I don't trust Iran and this agreement is a way too much of a compromise. I wouldn't want these Islamic lunatics to hold such a killer weapon. It's a threat not only for Israel or Iran's rivals in the Middle East (like Saudi Arabia) but also for Europe & Asia already now and the whole American continent in the near future. Israel has one of the most extensive nuclear bases in the world and has done all it could to dismantle any nuclear threat surrounding it. Israel is widely believed to be the single country in the Middle East that has a nuclear weapon, presumably since the 60's.That said, I share your mistrust for Iran (and all the other powers that agreed actually). It's like the West completely ignored the human rights in Iran and by what fascists that country is ruled.
