Guys, as we all know, Lush Life is one of the most difficult songs Gaga has even sung. It demands a great vocal range and exceeding vocal control. Not everybody can sing it especially the way Gaga sings it. I run across this audio of her singing it live, which was uploaded one year ago. I used to listen to this on repeat back then, but now, after a whole year, it gave me a legendary impression when I listened to it again. On that particular live, her voice sounds PHENOMENAL! It DOES sound legendary like those live performaces of jazz legends which you listen to and you feel overwhelmed and utterly astounded. There have been innumerable renditions of this particular song I've listened to, but NONE was as powerful and emotional as that of Gaga's.I feel like, as the years pass by, people will consider her as a legend not only when it comes to pop, but when it comes to her whole musicianship that is enormously expanded. What do you think?

By the way, I think Billy Strayhorn would be more than proud of this rendition. :proud:

Billy Strayhorn would definitely be proud. And thankful for the strides she has made regarding the LGBT community.

So much this. I loved this song when Queen Latifah did it, but never looked into its history. When Gaga announced she was covering it, I became a little detective and learned that Mr. Strayhorn was gay and that added an entirely different level to the song for me. Being a black, gay man in those days...I can't imagine it.

Gaga's version slays all others :legend: she's the only one (that I've heard) that drags it out and makes it a true tear jerker.

You're stinky
