djBuffoon 12,123
If an album/movie/etc that I love does well, great. If not, it doesn't impact my enjoyment or appreciation of it at all. It is not my place or job to worry about whether or not it does well. And it bothers me that I continuously see music fans use that as a pawn in their arguments ("Oh yeah, well my fave sold more than your fave, so there.") Whispering 18,865
Do I like when Gaga has commercial success? Sure, because she deserves it! Is it a requirement for my enjoyment of the music and overall era? Nope, not at all!
Riot Poof 2,236
Commercial success is great, but not required. The MUSIC is the most important thing. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.
Dominic 11,922
I need successful Gaga back. Some on here are just too self righteous who believe you aren't a true fan if you care for the charts. I think they tend to forget that the music industry is just that an INDUSTRY and if we want creative and inspiring pieces of art, music, videos and tours she needs to be successful to account for the production costs. It's a business. ...besides Gaga is just as thirsty for number ones as we are and no amount of preaching 'music not bling' will change that. It's extremely transparent that she cares for the success, at least to Carly Rae Jepsen it was The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
GagaisHotAF 419
If she underperforms or has massive success I'll still love her. Hell I would still be a massive fan if she only made jazz from now on. However I do want her to success. I love it when she has a massive success. I want the rest of the world to hear her music all the time. But that goes for everything I'm a big fan of! I want my favorite TV shows like Tyrant to be a hit. I want my favorite movie series Star Wars to smash records. I wan Lady Gaga to have hits. Because she is really the only pop artist I follow. We have Taylor Swifts and Katy Perry's but only one Gaga. Probably on Grindr

Ronk 14,762
of course we want her to be successful, as long as it's on her terms. If she puts out an album she's proud of and artistically is what she wants, and it does well, thats great. "Music not the bling" just means that the art has to lead the way, not the commerciality. Exactly. I live outside the space time continuum.
Born To Slay 10,996
The only reason I care about commercial success is because if she doesn't get it, they'll get her less promo spots, smaller tour budgets, less/cheaper videos, etc.
