LoveandMagic 1,731
Lol! I think she's talking more about attitude and sound vibes. Lately she's been wearing punk, she's known for performing pop, she's coming off a jazz tour, and she embraces art. I think whatever genre she goes with next (even if it's dance pop again) she will style herself a bit more punk or hard rock, possibly in hair, make-up, attitude, videos, etc. That's my prediction anyway.Though I'm so here for a Punk-ga album era, I don't think it will happen anytime soon. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
blacklistedd 599
Alright, relax. I wasn't being entirely serious. I've never seen "wack wannabe riot grrrl" merchandise sold at Hot Topic, so I'll take your word for it. But,I have absolutely no idea what is pretentious about suggesting Gaga "jacked" Nina Hagen's style. It has nothing to literally do with whether or not they sell riot grrrl merch though. I was equating her attempts at executing a pop/punk riot grrrl aesthetic to the likes of hot topics tween mall version of punk. Kind of a trip that its that hard for you to grasp lolIts pretentious and eye roll inducing that you'd insinuate she plagiarized Nina Hagen if even as some sort of a-typical gaga fan cynical humor. I think a majority of pop artists are derivative and bring forth aspects of underground music and subgenres to be used in their ****. And I think its cool that Gaga even knew who Nina Hagen was let alone derived aspects of her own image from her. "jacked" gives a negative connotation to something thats not negative. blacklistedd 599
PUNK?! please. If punk is being used in the same sentence as Lady Gaga its obviously being used very very lightly. To insinuate punk influences in anything she does is not incorrect however they're more indirect/abstract. Its foolish to consider Gaga or anything she does or will do punk and no one is saying it is/would actually be so.

Right after Nina released a collection of standards Gaga did, combine that with Gaga being heavily inspired by Nina's look and performance style I think "jacked" is a suitable word. They are very similar artists, two artists that I enjoy, I wasn't being negative. Relax.
