TimisaMonster 31,073
Yet Demi listens to radio, has playlists on streaming sitea, and watches YouTube videos...when does it stop? However, to illegally download without intent of purchase is impossible to control unless you charge for everything above... Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Kayla 7,595
IA w/ your whole post completely, but THIS. Even these Starbucks drinks as overpriced as they are qualify as sustenance that your body can use for fuel. I mean I would wager that a lot of people might just go to the Starbucks they see around the corner purely for convenience at times, like that time I ended up at Teavana in the mall because I was so parched from shopping and wandering around all day that even hot tea was appealing. I do agree with her that pirating is kind of sad for all the effort and work involved that goes into that music, but this comparison is just not a great one.Comparing food/drink to music is such a ridiculous comparison. We need food and drink to survive, give us energy and help us think. It's a necessity. Music just makes us feel good but it can't keep us alive. We have every right to spend good money on food and drink. If food is a necessity and music is just entertainment wouldn't it make more sense to say food should be cheaper and easily accessible while "luxury" items come with more of a cost? Kayla 7,595
she has 20M, average people make 2M in a lifetime. I don't think people expect them to give away their work for free, but they are already blessed to have that much money and should stop acting hungry for any $ they can getI would take these artists who are "speaking out!" more seriously if they put their money where their mouth is. They're all about "supporting the smaller artists," but their support seems to end at rants online from what I see. They could take some of their millions to fund a smaller artist's album. They could promote smaller artists on their Twitters. They could have smaller acts that don't already have good publicity open for them in their shows. But instead they attack streaming services "in defense of the little guy."
manicholic 3,694
If I was a worldwide famous celebrity with a million dollars worth of network and they told me "Woops some people download your songs for free you will make 45 million instead of 50 million this year", I wouldn't complain about it at all...Wow you really have NO clue about how the music industry works There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled. manicholic 3,694
they are already blessed to have that much money and should stop acting hungry for any $ they can getIt's amazing how so many of you have such strong judgements against famous singers/musicians, yet I wonder if you and the others are also as vocal / pissed off about movie stars who get paid $20 mil a film or better yet the thousands of corporate executives who steal from others / destroy small businesses and precious environmental resources all just to receive their $50 mil bonuses I think it all comes down to the fact most people are gravely misinformed about musicians and have no respect for their work and secretly loathe their success There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled. Wolf 1,328
WHAT KIND OF BLANKET STATEMENT AND ILLOGICAL COMPARISON Obviously not all people are wealthy, and they would rather spend their hard earned money on something that is more valuable and beneficial. Coffee is a necessity, and there are a lot of ways to listen to music without illegally downloading (spotify). Besides, not everyone can willingly spend their money on music that they'll easily get tired of. (Cool For The Summer )
