But if you're argument is that once someone reaches some monetary threshold, they shouldn't complain about their time and work being taken for free, then you need to be fair across the board to not just music. I don't care if I earn a million dollars one day, even after that my time and effort is still worth something. You certainly wouldn't want to work at job where they just take part of it away and say "well you already have enough" It's not because they make a lot that they shouldn't get anything for their work anymore Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Redstreak 6,653 Posted July 8, 2015 Share Posted July 8, 2015 If I was a worldwide famous celebrity with a million dollars worth of network and they told me "Woops some people download your songs for free you will make 45 million instead of 50 million this year", I wouldn't complain about it at all...ok but even If you say that it's still pretty irrelevant, what about the sound engineers, producers, lyricists, studios, marketing team, visual team? They all get paid with the money used to buy that song as well, and they certainly aren't making the same as the main artist...
