I applaud her for challenging and changing the way people see gender :lolly:

Really just looks like a rockstar. I guess I'm not seeing what's revolutionary about this.

It annoys me that this person gets so much attention when they aren't really ground breaking. The only thing they did differently was conform very well to accepted standards of beauty. It seems so hypocritical.

Nope, not at all. Your logic is way off.

YCH said that the cover was messy, not that trans in general is messy, and he's not wrong, it is messy.

YCH is known to be transphobic so.

hop on that **** like a maniac

Conchita Wurst TOPLESS

Speaking of topless, i can't wait for the first case where a Transman exposes his ample bare breasts in public and claims transphobia when he is persecuted for showing female looking nipples. "Hey, I'm a male, I should be allowed to show my chest!"

Whether you support Conchita or not, this is a really well-taken photo and she looks stellar in it.

I get that some people are uncomfortable with the gender issues here (hey, we're just now getting society to start realizing they should accept men-to-women and women-to-men transgender people who look exactly like the gender they identify as, so for some it's hard to wrap their brains around someone who identifies as female but still retains much of their male appearance), but they're going to have to realize that Conchita is a person deserving of respect.

She's done nothing wrong, nothing rude, etc. so I see no reason for people to be negative towards her.

Conchita is a person just like you. The only difference is she handles her gender differently from most people and, oh yeah, is actually famous and inspiring, and has a bomb-looking cover on Rolling Stone.

Idk, looks kinda weird to me, I'm not trying to be rude tho.

She has masculine arms, and then she has a beautiful face and the beard + the hair and makeup, everything is just too much for me :laughga:

Doesn't underestimate her impact tbh :applause:

I'm trying my best to sound non offensive but I get really confused by conchita

Like she's a drag queen and wears makeup but she has a beard which isn't womanly and expresses her flat chest, so is she a drag queen really? How do we describe her and put her neatly into something we can define?

I guess my point is that Conchita represents something that we don't socially or culturally understand completely atm with many of us questioning why does she do this rather than us questioning why is this seen by many as "strange"

So yeah, Conchita is really changing social norms

eek

I will say this is a big move for her, and I applaud her for that,

But i'm not a fan of the cover :emma: Looks.. try hard and tacky

^^^^ These posts are how you constructively express a negative opinion. Well done! :applause:

Messy. And no I'm not being transphobia. There are trans people who look 10 time classier than that. This is just...messy

This thread has become a mess... I know some of you do not mean to transphobic, but what makes you think that you still have to have an opinion on this, if you dont like what you see... pass on!

why am i supposed to care about conchita wurst?

You are NOT

Don't open the thread, don't post... problem solved

again a lot of people in this forum wouldn't have a problem calling Katy, britney or madonna a "mess"

the double standards in this forum are interesting

That's an excellent point over there.. I don't understand how people feel the need to have an opinion for everything, that only leads to unconstructive criticism like 'mess' 'basic' 'tragic' 'who cares' and many other blatant idocies that you see in the daily basis here and other sites. :saladga:

She does that to be provocative. She doesn't wanna fit in the heteronormative society we live in. She breaks the rules and that is what is amazing.

freedom of speech doesn't mean that you should be transphobic.

How is that being transphobic? Conchita Wurst is not transgender to begin with. She is an alter ego of Tom Neuwirth. She is pretty much a drag queen, not a transgender woman. So how is saying that she is disgusting or that she is a mess is being transphobic?
