After the war, he didn’t tell anyone about it, and it wasn’t until years later in 1988, when his wife found some records in his attic, that anyone knew what he had done. The video shows him being recognised on “That’s Life”. He thought he was only a member of the audience and was surprised when he realised he was the main guest. Might be emotional for you.
