Will the current pop climate favour Gaga's next era?

Pop is almost in the same state it was around 2008, so I wouldn't say it favours Gaga rn, unless she comes up with something fresh and exciting again like in 2008

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

That wasn't serious, right? :saladga:

Super serious cause that would work just fine right? :miley:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I believe you suggested a super concept. Imagine the thirst everybody would feel for a Gaga album after 10 years :lolly:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

So 2016 will be 2011 part 3? :hunty:

Yes :green:

It depends on the music trends for 2016 of course. I don't know what she's going to come up with, but I hope it will be more fun and interesting than this mumbly minimalism trend going on right now. I think her doing anything that's different will help her stand out.

As for trends, I think R&B/hip hop type stuff will likely be dominating. I think if she continued on that DWUW-sounding train she'd be received pretty well. Rock would be a wild card and a much tougher idea to push, but think about it, there's no female rockers in the mainstream - a pop-rock hybrid that doesn't sound like it's 2005 era Pink and Avril would be interesting. Though I think a pop-rock-r&b fusion would cool and fresh in theory.

Are the pop girls taking a break tho?

Britney, Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, Adele, Miley, Beyoncé and several smaller pop girls like Selena and Demi are all releasing between now and the end of 2016 it would appear so there isn't really a break at all.

I think it feels that way because everyone and everything in mainstream pop is boring atm. The most exciting thing right now is Selena being Cassie 2.0 and Demi going back to 2008 with a Kesha and Katy-type song.

Adele will be back, so no.

I don't think Adele poses a threat honestly.

100% I believe her album will be successful, of course, but I don't think shes going to have another 21 where literally no one else could hold a candle to it when looking at the year in retrospect.

I just think tha the presence of a vocally strong soul singer-songwriter like that makes the pop girls automatically look weird and untalented :smh: With the right music and era, Gaga could easily change that but if she's going back to her colorful pop persona I fear she might not be taken seriously next to a chart presence like Adele.

Could be wrong though, that's just my guess.

That was certainly true in 2011. But I think in 2011 Adele stuck out like a sore thumb in the best way possible and ignited a shift from the excessive gaga-era of pop music into the post-gaga minimalistic back to basics sort of approach. Thats been well established at this point what with most pop girls toning themselves down and slowing down their tempos. It won't be as night and day as it was back then. Of course, unless Gaga pulls an ARTPOP and emphasizes persona again rather than more emphasis on raw quality.

I hope she releases something fresh and energetic, something that really shows off her vocal prowess. I want her to have that legendary rock star feel (even if she doesn't do rock). I want her feeling fierce and her promotion on point. If she wants to impact the GP, I would strongly recommend a fusion of sounds. Something that both stands out and gets people bopping, but I also want quality, something that will become a classic. I definitely think she can pull it off. I'm excited to see what her plans are.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

I just want to walk into the NYC subway and see Gaga's whole face covering the train. Just like she did for Born this way

Since Gaga will release her single in like beginning or mid 2016, watch out, every other pop girl will have the time to prepare their eras and it will be 2013 all over again.

Receipts on releasing a single early/mid 2016?
There's so much speculation on her releasing early 2016 but I'm convinced it's going to be Q4. Whenever someone says something like this, I wonder if there's been any news to back this up. Is this speculation or fact?

Lady Gaga is a force to be reckoned with. She is miles higher in the eyes of the GP since before ARTPOP. She will soar even higher with AHS. AHS will catch the younger demographic and give her that "cool" edge she needs again. It will be a weird feeling for us because we are not used to our fave being respected and cool but those days are ahead of us! People will openly talk about her and her music without being embarrassed. Gaga has converted a lot of the older demographic, AHS will sweep the other half (the more important half) in and then she will start the next era. Imagine after all of that she releases a TEOG style lead single....
