"The Puke Performance" Was Amazing.

I think it was simply beautiful to see Lady Gaga in that mindset, you could literally see the anger and frustration on her face. She was driven ****ing crazy the previous year and finally had enough and let herself and everything she knew GO. I think it was actually her going crazy on stage, and quite literally a big "**** you" to everybody in her life who she felt turned on her. It was beautiful, and of course had meaning because Gaga herself has dealt with eating disorders in the past and even just a few years back! I can't believe people dislike the performance.

Edit: And also, on the same topic... Swine is amazing as well. The whole thing about rape that she's foreshadowed and referenced quite calmly in her work and live performances... I relate to it a lot.

I just wished the puke was a different color like a neon pink, because the dark green didn't register that well..

My name is yours! What's Probglum?

I loved it instantly :legend:

As did I. The insanity of it, I think it was beautiful. And it was kind of self-destructive which I also loved. I am not at all trying to glorify things like that, but I think looking back at it now, I can appreciate it because she's in a much happier place in her life now and she NEEDED something like that to happen inside herself to move on.

Yes!!!!  The insanity of that performance was truly beautiful and artistic!  Gaga literally left her entire soul on stage that night.  It was her way of telling the world who was calling her a failure "fvck you and fvck pop music!!"

That was truly one of my favorite Gaga performances because I love Swine and because it was so artistic.  :legend:

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

I love the Swine performance so much :legend: I remember watching the livestream and following a thread here about SXSW. People were freaking out during/after the performance saying it was a mess, she has just destroyed her career and they would be handing in their stan cards.

I was like "What??! That was one of her best performances ever!!"
Everyone who liked the performance was called delusional for a good 20 minutes until Rolling Stone and other publications started coming out and praising the performance. Then people started to recognise that she hadn't destroyed her career, it was actually this insanely cool rock moment  and it was an awesome concept:nick:

I 200% agree. It was messy, ppl were weirded out...anger, frustration, feelings of betrayal, all that was palpable there...odd as it was to watch her in such a different mindset, I could tell a moment was happening, something that ppl wouldn't forget.

It was something no other popstar would DARE to do...and I'm not even talking about the puke, I'm talking about putting the feelings we all try to scape from when we go to a concert right there up on the stage - which made so many spectators uncomfortable, as it should. It's something she gets a lot of **** for, when she actually deserves props.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

the whole sXsw show was fantastic.  She took chances, changed things up, and was insane in a good way.

Still not a fan of the puke performance, to be honest, but I loved everything else she did at the SXSW show and even the anger and energy she brought on stage. I'd rather see people get mad and fight back than let sorrow and the world bring them down. Glad to see her fighter spirit continue to flare.

Do your own research.

When I hadn't watched the performance and just heard about it online I thought it could possibly be tacky. But after watching the entire show and then even moreso after watching her post-sxsw interview and then much later on the howard stern interview where she also discussed it, I have a lot of respect for that performance. I don't like Swine, let me just be honest, and even upon hearing about the story behind it I still don't enjoy listening to it. But I do respect that performance a lot. Theres something nearly punk about her intentions behind it (and before the eye rolls come in I use the term punk and lady gaga in the same sentence incredibly incredibly incredibly lightly believe me). She was just angry and passionate and real and the vomit certainly did encapsulate the whole spirit of the performance and that song in particular. Some people dont get it and thats fine, I get why they dont get it. It wasnt appealing from a pop perspective, but from a punk perspective I liked it.
