If Bruno Mars can do it.. Gaga can do it. Like srsly don't even start with career length bull**** and say Taylor's performance isn't that exciting when Bruno Mars did this ****

Brit or Gagz. I'm okay with Taylor but can she do it next era? Overexposure is a sure thing. I just pray that Brit will be in the mood. She should've done it 10 years ago. For Gaga, I don't think NFL is keen with her. Maybe if Bobby will talk with them and preview her new music and if it slays maybe they'll consider. Although Gaga reportedly declined 2012.

Taylor is actually a good performer. Not that great, but good. Also, your opinion is biased. I hope for Taylor but as Marlon said, she has a contract with Coca-Cola. :crossed:

Also the title dear. Taylor, not "Tayor."

Pain of fame1

I wanted gaga to do it  in 2016 as Bey did it in 2013 and then her album was REALLY succesful but i guess it will be better to do it in 2017 after LG5 is out and she has new recent hits.

Does the superbowl really have a lot of influence on the sales of an album?

I'm sure a lot of it might be to do with controversy. Gaga has bled to death on stage, has had a song called Judas and has recently had a cancelled video featuring R.Kelly directed by Terry Richardson where she appears naked.
After Janet's superbowl performance they are a bit careful of controversial performers. Madonna was finally asked in 2012 and she had the latest controversy with her guest M.I.A giving the finger.

Beyonce is pretty safe, Bruno Mars is pretty safe, Katy Perry is pretty safe. Someone like Taylor Swift also seems like the ideal candidate, very popular country girl with a lot of hits.

Gaga has swiftly changed her image since C2C. Since she has performed at the Oscars and European Games opening ceremony she has shown she can be an appropriate performer for these types of events, but I don't think she will be the go to option for a couple of years.

Do u think Godney is "pretty safe"?

I think if she prepares it Britney can give a memorable show. Imagine if Gaga makes a surprise appearance and they perform Freak Like Me

Yeah I do, especially these days. She has some revealing clothing ala Beyonce and Katy Perry but I don't think Britney is in a place where she is going to go onstage and shock and outrage the nation.

Shouldn't Britney have done it like... 10-15 years ago, if ever?

I think so.

But after the Janet Jackson incident, not a single person with nipples and a vagina was allowed to do it for 6 straight years. We got McCartney, The Stones, The Who, Springstein, Tom Petty, and Prince.

I think Taylor would be more interesting. I like Britney but let's be real - it would be cringy.

To me it's going to be Taylor or a legend who has decades of hits and success. Just look at their last choices. They either pick someone who had a very successful year (Katy, Bruno, The Black Eyed Peas) or a legend who has years and years of successes (Beyoncé, Madonna, The Who).

I don't even understand  why people believed Gaga could have been a choice for 2016 halftime. No shade here but Gaga's last successful album for the GP (the aim of this halftime) is BTW and the last smashing global hit is BTW. Both are from 2011.

Though I could definitely see them considering Gaga as a performer for 2017 if she has a very succesful era and smashing hits in 2016.

Gaga also could be invited by the performer of 2016. Not holding my breath for this. But it could happen.

Gaga has enough hits to put on a fantastic show! It's roughly 30-31 minutes including the artists' intro and outro. So I would say at least about 6-8 songs

Katy's setlist (6 songs. minus Missy Elliot)

Roar
Dark Horse
I Kissed a Girl
(with Lenny Kravitz)
Teenage Dream
California Gurls
Get Ur Freak On
(Missy Elliott)
Work It
(Missy Elliott)
Lose Control
(Missy Elliott)
Firework

Gaga's (my opinion) setlist

1. (LG5 Hit)
2. Poker Face
3. Paparazzi
4. Video phone/Telephone (gaga's part with chorus) (with Beyonce)

[at piano]

5. The Edge Of Glory
6. Born This Way

[leaves piano. back to stage]

7. Bad Romance
8. Applause

I think lovegame would fit too but idk where. Point is. You don't necessarily need recent hits to perform. Dark Horse was the only hit from Prism she performed. The rest are from her first two albums. cut some slack.
