it depends, born this way definitely has its flaws, and because pop audiences hate flaws and rambunctiousness, there are a few better options for what makes a better POP record. love angel music baby by gwen stefani for instance serves catchiness, quality, nostalgia, yet a jult forward for pop music at the time, any of the songs could be great hits, its direction was just all very concise. its a solid solid record. confessions does the same as well. and fleshtone by kelis i feel is horrifically underrated and one of the best put together modern pop albums. so, born this way is still my favorite and in my opinion, deserves props for being so daring and edgy for a modern contemporary pop record.
