FGGrayson 9,670
This. I think people just see ballads as piano songs like Adele they do, u can hear 'ballads' from the 80's and all of them are syntpop or electronic, yet they still are ballads, nowadays it seems everybody think a ballad is Adele or Sam Smith 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻
Red 98,220
Gaga did call Paparazzi a "Mid-Tempo Ballad" and she also said the song is slower than a mid tempo song. I forgot which interview it was but I think it was in 2009, I think she had lavender streaks in her hair but if I can find it I'll post it. Also Rob Fusari did a conference thing I think at the apple store a couple months ago and he talked about working with Gaga and the creation of the Paparazzi and how the concept started. He also said that the song is a ballad but the final production makes it unrecognizable. I never knew it #fakestan If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. Music is very subjective, it all depends on your views towards it. I can relate to the explanation they provided.
Gardevoir 9,879
You and I is a rock and roll ballad, but Paparazzi?.. No, what are you guys even talk about? It's a synthpop song, not ballad. EDIT: Okay, I did my research and maybe it is a synthpop ballad in fact. I didn't know. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
Tumblr 1,846
Acoustically they are ballads when played on only piano Studio version they are mid-tempo pop songs I answered your question, you're welcome. Mariah - Ariana - Rihanna
Stephen 30,431
I mean when she plays them at the piano they are ballads. At the core of the songwriting, they are ballads. But the production changes them imo, and so I don't consider them ballads.
VforVendetta 2,024
Paparazzi is something between a ballad and an dance song, a hybrid I would say, a higher tempo ballad that relies a lot on a cathy hook like a dance song. You and I is a pop-rock ballad. Sister 9,907
Yes. I say that both songs are indeed, ballads. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
