ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Meh...And "killing this hoes/killing this niggas" does not fit Bey's wholesome image... Beyonce is still a black woman who owns that she is black, and yes she is a "bad b---h" I think associating this as "not wholesome" is a bit problematic too tbh She is not popular for being "PC" and watered down, she fully embraces all sides of her in her music, and that's probably a big part of why she's such a role model for so many people She can be classy, and she can be ratchet, and both are okay 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Iwontell 7,312
Beyonce is still a black woman who owns that she is black, and yes she is a "bad b---h" I think associating this as "not wholesome" is a bit problematic too tbh She is not popular for being "PC" and watered down, she fully embraces all sides of her in her music, and that's probably a big part of why she's such a role model for so many people She can be classy, and she can be ratchet, and both are okay First of all, trying to turn what I said into racism? Really? Cheap move...Second, there's nothing wholesome about using the "n word" or calling other women "hoes" and there's no argumentative maneuver that can hide that...Third, and most important point, I'm not dragging Beyonce at all - I'm a fan, by the way -, I'm simply acknowledging that her public image and behavior have been changing...she clearly wants to be seen as a feminist (and there's nothing feminist about "killing hoes" or telling "b---hes" to bow down) and as a leader and role model for black ppl (and using the n word gratuitously as that does not befit that)...so it doesn't surprise me that she chose not to put this song (which sounds like discarded material from "Beyoncé") out...So, ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

The word wholesome is often a placement word for "morally upright" or "in line with the general consensus of society" -- which is white and generally looks at black culture as disgusting. It's seen as "not wholesome" in general, so yeah it is problematic Society has a history of deeming black vernacular and language as not appropriate or acceptable because of racism, so I mean its really not that far off About "hoes", Beyonce doesn't really show any signs of internalized misogyny, so i'm not going to just chalk it up to that. Generally hip-hop culture uses epithets that are common on the street to create an atmosphere; not to demean other women but to label them in a tongue and cheek fashion. By killing them hoes, shes just "doing better than other women," the same way shes just doing better than men. Shes doing better than everyone in summary I don't think Beyonce gives off an air of internalized misogyny, though shes certainly an imperfect feminist, and a mainstream one at that (which is fine, lol). Many people struggle to accept her branch of feminism. I'm not one of those people, and I think context is important when we a--lyze media -- the same a--lysis of hip hop and black culture applies to her lyrics in "Bow down b---hes" and what not in my mind. But I digress, I didn't mean any offense For the record, I like the song 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
RAMROD 109,618
Is she making a new album? I swear to God, if she releases in 2016 and steals Gaga's thunder One can coexist with the other. Born This Way and 4 were released in the same year, a month apart. They did well on their own accord. One succesful on the chart, another got a Grammy.
