Taylor said it herselflmao you're comparing uncomparable. These "musicians" allready made music and they don't have to do any extra work for these three months. Its not like anyonehese listen to these indie artists. They would earn 10$ in month anyways. Main income for these are live concerts
StrawberryBlond 14,820
Gaga is a true artist. She's in it for the music, not the money. Real artists don't care about making mega millions, they just want their work out there and appreciated. Some indie artists have actually admitted this point blank. Gaga herself said on Jonathan Ross back in 2011 that she likes that her albums still sell in the age of piracy but ultimately didn't really mind about the sales because she already has a lot of money and questioned why artists constantly complain about not making as much money any more and what they're going to use their millions for. Judging by her not participating in the Tidal launch, keeping her music on Spotify, joining Apple Music etc. I'd say her position hasn't changed. She isn't two faced and secretly money hungry like some artists I could name. Because that's a lot worse - I'd rather artists just flat out stated that they want to earn as much as they can instead of all this BS act of "support the hardworking artists" preaching that they claim to support. Gaga isn't money hungry and has proved it many times, so her support of streaming is completely understandable. It's great business sense too. It doesn't take a genius to work out that banning certain ways your music can be distributed will do your sales more harm than good. If you want people to know your music exists, you have to put it out there to be previewed. I believe Gaga once talked about the idea of releasing a free album too, long before U2 did it. She's a smart one is our Stefani.
Nicole 1,809
I said this in another thread, but what's the difference between not getting paid for three months and spending three months or more busking in the street and giving away your music for free on home made CDs just to get your name out there. Artists these days expect money/success to be handed to them on a silver platter as soon as they decide to be a singer. It doesn't work like that. That's what I don't like about streaming etc, it brings out the money hungry, self-deserving entitled ways among artists with a fake cover up of "i'm not money hungry i'm just supporting all young artists like myself"
Guest ARTPOPSlays
Idk tbh...but I do however believe that everything she said is true. I mean at one moment it's respect the artist then the other it's music not the bling, it's confusing lol
Wolf 1,328
Because not all people can afford to buy music. Some are even more than privileged to buy music AND concert tickets. I think that gaga will be happy to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy her music, even if they don't get to see her live.In case gaga will want to be vocal of supporting young artists, she might come up with a way to help them without the purpose of her getting more money.
