I think she makes total sense, why should Apple's 3 month trial thing come out of the artist's & their team's pockets?  It's THEIR service that they're trying to push and promote and so on, it should be coming out of their pockets

Realistically, it is kinda crappy of Apple to not pay the musicians for the first three months. However, obviously the artist/label is able to refuse joining the service, and I'm sure that Apple would allow them to join after the 3 month period. 

SO, if you're an artist and you want to join Apple Music but don't want to miss out on 3 months of payment, join after the trial period. If you're an artist that supports the idea and can afford to hold off on being paid for the 3 month trial period as Apple tries to reach more people by offering that incentive, be a part of the program from the beginning. 

The free 3 moths starts when you join the service, not when the service itself starts.

You guys, she has a point. It's not necessarily about herself.

Just imagine being an up and coming artist. You get your first hit single, but during the time that your song is doing great everyone ends up streaming it for free. The moment you start earning money for the streams is the moment that your first 15 minutes of fame are already over.

Big artists like her don't need those 3 months. But a lot of less popular artists that have yet to establish themselves could really use the money to grow. Apple is using their music to promote their own service + earn money, while all those new artists get nothing in return.

You/She has a point, BUT Taylor isn't an upcoming artist, she's far from that and she's just using this point for an excuse to take her music off of there. She is greedy.

This is where music tech is going, so isn't it better to get on it while it's popular before other artists capitalize on it? She's free not to use Apple. However, I wonder if she'll change when people buy millions in music from Apple through this service years going forward.

It would make sense if Apple was getting paid in that time period but they're not. They probably won't care if the artist isn't put on there for the first three months then they put themselves back on there again.
