Tropico 4,145
I love HML, don't get me wrong (one of the best songs of her career tho? Umm idk about that.) but it feels like a song which can never be replicated and if she tried, it would be a mediocre song. I'd rather it stay a one time thing. Plus, I can't imagine it fitting on the next album. HML is overly autotuned and makes use of so much synths, which I don't think the next album will sound like. ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
Bradley 59,192
No and no and no.I don't want autotune at all.I want her real voice. That autotune wasn't Kesha-like autotune, it was HML autotune and it was amazing.OT: Yes but maybe not as a single since HML is quite experimental to be a single. Son of Venus 473
Definetely. It's one of her best songs and a highlight of BTW. It's perfection and for me it has the same feeling as Applause. It never gets old.I'd love if she did something like this.I'd be here for a full album of HMLs. I love these dark,s-xy,slutty and "bad attitude" vibes it has
Lucas 27,164
I like the song so much but no, I want uptempo songs, and as someone said above, we need fresh sound

Yeah I get what you mean.I just really like the idea that the chorus of the song is basically her going "oooOOOOoooOOOooo" and yet, it totally works and compliments the song well. And also her songs with the "bad attitude" vibes are so amazing they are more memorable for some reason
Delete 258
I'm over that sound to be honest. It's time switch it up a bit. I mean really, Heavy Metal Lover is just another EQ filtered auto-tuned raunchfest with the dirtiest (overproduced) electro beat she could find. (In my opinion) After a few months of listening to the album, it became as skipped on my iPod as Fashion of His Love. If you want to listen to songs that are built from the HML blue print go listen to ARTPOP. If the album was inspired from anything on BTW it would be that song. No shade, just my opinion. Hurem 17,800
Not really because it would be constantly compared to HML.

Ladey Gagz 2,512
I really dislike HML even though majority love it, so it's a no for me
elijahfan 26,311
I don't really want her to redo something she's done before. HML exists and is what it is, and thanks Gaga for that. In the end, there are all sorts of awesomes, and I have no doubt she'll have other epic sounds for us to enjoy

So do you think that ARTPOP songs are similar to Heavy Metal Lover? IDK....maybe Mary Jane Holland, but other than that I don't see it

Head Empty 25,240
Although HML is my favorite Gaga song next to Bad Romance, I don't think that "a song like _______" would ever work. For example, Judas is a song like Bad Romance, and I can never unhear the similarities between the two. Everytime I listen to Judas I think: "I'd have a better time listening to Bad Romance" so I always end up skipping it (although that's obviously subjective, calm down Judas stans I still respect the song ). So no, I wouldn't want a song like HML, because I think that's not to right approach to music. I'd love a song that is similar in terms of quality, but above all I'd love something new.
