Tony Bennett And Lady Gaga's Radio City Music Hall Residency Averaging $380 Ticket On Resale Market

It is a fit that may seem peculiar to most, but the chemistry that Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga have created along their Cheek to Cheek Tour is obvious. The couple is separated by nearly 60 years in age, though both trace their roots back to the rich and ever-vibrant jazz culture of New York City. Bennett, a Queens native, has led one of the most decorated jazz careers ever as a recipient of 18 Grammy Awards. Hailing from Manhattan, Gaga has become one of pop music’s biggest acts since the turn of the decade, with her latest endeavor the collaborative album Cheek to Cheek and subsequent tour with Bennett.

The pair has been touring together since December, making multiple stops at venues like The Axis Theatre in Las Vegas, Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles over their six-month run. Bennett and Gaga will now bring their joint tour to New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for four shows beginning tonight, and the duo is generating massive demand for tickets on the secondary market.

According to TiqIQ, the average secondary price for Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga tickets at Radio City Music Hall is $380.83. All four shows will be the most expensive remaining on the Cheek to Cheek Tour, which makes 24 more stops in the U.S. and Canada through the end of November.

Bennett and Gaga’s top-priced Radio City gig will be held on June 23. The average price for June 23 Cheek to Cheek Tour tickets is now $393.30 on the secondary market and the get-in price, or cheapest available ticket, is $143. Though their most expensive gig nearly tops the $400 ticket average, don’t expect prices to drop much for other Big Apple shows this weekend. The cheapest date the Bennett and Gaga will play in NYC comes on June 20, when tickets own a secondary average of $353.55 and the get-in price starts at $132.

Anticipation is so high for the upcoming Radio City residency that ticket prices have skyrocketed above Bennett and Gaga’s overall tour average on the resale market. Over the 24 events still scheduled, the average price for Cheek to Cheek Tour tickets is $252.91, marking a 50.5% premium for the short NYC residency over the next week. Only a July 24 stop at Borgata Events Center in Atlantic City will own a higher ticket price average than the four Radio City shows, with tickets averaging $406.90 and the get-in price listed at $220 on the secondary market.

The collaboration between Bennett and Gaga has been an exceptional success both in terms of record and ticket sales. Cheek to Cheek sold 131,000 copies in its first week, making it Gaga’s third consecutive album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200. The Cheek to Cheek Tour continues in North America through November 21, when it wraps with a hometown show at NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Long Island.

I hate how Forbes always posts articles about resellers.. why? What really matters is what it's sold for first-hand. Resale does indeed show demand, but when the supply is low (like with a theatre), the prices are bound to be high for a high-profile act in a big city.

Amazing! "Nobody is here for Gaga doing jazz" my left cheek! Gaga and Tony are amazing on that stage and I am so glad that the public has recognized this! Continue knocking their socks off Gaga!

Can't freaking wait to see what she does with her own material! Let the next solo era have the flawless promo and smooth management this had, and she will rock the world!

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
