TMZ : Things Just Got Real With Madonna (Real Desperate)

Whispering

Except one video doesn't summarize Madonna as an individual, nor as an artist. I find it so sad how its so easy for the media and people like you to overlook the fact that she's a successful single mother of 4 that has done and is still currently doing a lot to help humanity. If that's desperate and not inspiring then I don't know what is.

People like me? My response was to the person who stated that "we" all wanted to be like this- partying it up- in our 50s. It was their assessment of the video, not mine. I never said anything about any artist being "desperate and not inspiring".

Tragic.

I personally don't know what's worse song or the video, but that's just my opinion. Why is she pissing all over her previous work from years ago? We all know why, but the better question is why does she need that?

P.S. the ending of the song a.k.a. "wood floor pulling", is just pain for my ears.

I love how much effort you put into your posts and how they're never laced with hatred or bias

I try to see all sides but I know I've slipped up a few times. But thank you. :)

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Look, I don't mind Madonna breaking age barriers. She can dress and act however she wants.

I think the B---- I'm Madonna video was disappointing. I don't care if Rita Ora, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, Alexander Wang, Diplo, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj are in the video. I just don't think that is as exciting as Madonna and these celebrities think. I can see photos and videos of these celebrities everywhere, a 1 second cameo in this lackluster video isn't exciting.

It would be a disappointing video if Gaga, Rihanna or anyone released it. Another party video, I had enough of that in 2008/2009.

My main criticism of Madonna is not that she isn't "acting her age" but that she seems to be sacrificing quality for hits. She would rather be remembered as the pop superstar who managed to have hits and stay relevant throughout 4 decades (80's/90's/00's/10's), I'd rather her be remembered as the pop superstar who managed to stay relevant and churn out quality albums.

When Madonna was 26 she released "Like a Virgin", at age 28 Madonna was releasing songs and videos like "Papa Don't Preach", at 31 she was releasing "Like a Prayer" and "Express Yourself"and at 32 she was releasing "Vogue".

Madonna's youth was filled with her releasing these interesting, boundary pushing songs and videos with bold imagery. Madonna's mature age albums seem to be her collaborating with the latest hot producers in an attempt to churn out hits and keep up with the younger girls coming behind her.

If she wants to fight ageism and dress how she is now then all power to her, but if she can create songs and videos that are interesting and different in the process then that would be great too. Living for Love wasn't my cup of tea, but it seemed a step in the right direction. Ghost Town had an incredible video.

The song and video 'B---- I'm Madonna' seems a bit beneath her and makes it seem as if she is blindly following trends.

So the video was supposed be about her sitting in a rocking chair netting a quilt?

I think it's great that Madonna still wants to be fun-loving & s-xual at her age. But there a somewhat visual discrepancy between what she wants us to see and what she gives us. I think she wants to show that there are no age barriers, however especially that Bitch I'm Madonna video comes of as "LOOK AT ME I'M NOT OLD, I'M YOUNG!! HAVING FUNS & STUFFS WITH COOL KIDS YOYO". It just seems extremely unnatural & somewhat obnoxious, like watching a scene kid in real life pretending to be a dinosaur because they think that other people will find the mysterious & cool. I'm just uneasy watching that because it comes of as being desperate for the younger audiences attention by trying to emulate what she thinks they're lifestyle is like. As if your mom is trying to fit in with your friends by using awkward slang.

I think the 'awkwardness' was intentional, last I checked nightclubs don't allow children into them, even if they are Madonna's... :emma:

I was talking about Madonna's last two eras as a whole though. :emma: It felt very "I AM YOUNG AND COOL AND HIP" instead of "My age doesn't prevent me from being a bad b---h."

The only reason I hate this song and video is because she can and has done so much better :cryga:

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

I hated the song but I love the video. I see the video as a unity thing. We've been pinning these artists up against each other like the hunger games but they're all together in this video having fun.

It's a fun visual to a fun song. It's not like we were expecting anything groundbreaking

Her two dancers towards the end have hand prints on their outfits, similar to Gaga's hand outfit in Applause! Coincidence? I think not :P :queenga:
