I noticed that she emphasized on how she's going to be surrounded by great actors instead of how she is a great actor herself. What is this supposed to mean?

Jessica was just being honest. That said, when artists get asked these types of questions they usually offer support not be 100% honest like Jessica was. I don't know which I prefer.

She was also in the Muppets movie, the Simpsons, and made a cameo as Girl At Swimming Pool #2 in the Sopranos. And let's not forget her music videos, more specifically "Paparazzi" and "Telephone".

That's not really the same though... I call this being a performer... But being the lead lady of a show will require actress talent... I have no doubt Gaga can be a great actress but Jessica Lange got a point, we'll only know she's good when we'll see her in this show... Now we only can say she'll play with a good team.

It's not exactly the same but Gaga here goes into the character very well. I'm sure she will handle her role.

Honestly even if Gaga is great in her role I don't think she'll be better than Jessica Lange in AHS, she did this show for four years ! She was such an awesome actress ! She'll be missed (too bad Gaga won't play with her...)

Gaga has never acted except that tiny part in a movie and a skit on SNL.  So she has nothing to go off of.   How in the world is she supposed to say she's a great actor?  Gaga isn't an actor technically with a body of experience.  Gaga will have to prove herself, as should be the case.  Jessica is an actor with years of experience.  She was very polite in response to the question..

We are her fans, we've been following her for years and yet we don't know if she'll be bad or good, let alone Jessica freaking Lange.
