swakby 4,100
Anyone who says that the MDNA tour was not a success can go see a doctor. Plus, the show was spectacular.
hmm 979
People paid the money and had to leave during the concert because she was not time. 2 hours late because Madonna said she wanted everything perfect. People on the East Cost depend on Buses to get them their and back. People that have babysitters need to get home. People were asking for their money back. Doubt they got a refund. Madonna knows how to pull off a perfect What? I see you've dropped the set-list argument realising it was incongruous. A minority of people were probably asking for their money back and a slightly larger group of people were probably inconvenienced (and for what it's worth - major artists being late is hardly new, they're almost all self-obsessed divas at the end of the day). The tour grossed $300m (give or take a few hypothetical refunds ) so it was still a hugely successful venture.
swakby 4,100
I have better things to do than to hate on Madonna. Hard Candy was her last good album and she'll never be as good as Confessions on a Dancefloor. She's become too full of herself now. She should go lock herself in a cabin in the woods and clear her mind and come up with something as good as COAD. I agree that Rebel Heart was not her best effort but Hard Candy? Really? Well I actually take back that bit (sorta) You make good and completely understandable points. She's been 'full of herself' for a long time but the difference then was the music, performances and messages backed it up to the point where it was understandable. Jjang 2,262
Knows how to pull off the most amazing pop shows on earth. Reviews for the MDNA tour : Rolling Stone: "We don't come to Madonna for rock & roll, nor any of its wardrobe trappings. We come to her for an unparalleled super pop spectacle, and that's what MDNA, as an album and tour, set out to prove: no one does provocative pop better, and no one, even now, looks cooler doing it." Idolator: "Consider us officially excited for when this show rolls around to our neck of the woods." The Jerusalem Post: "It’s difficult to imagine somebody not enjoying a Madonna concert. Say what you will about the Kabbalah-studying, gun-toting, fashionista of pop music – and everyone has something to say – but the woman knows how to put on a good show." The National: "MDNA audience bears witness to Madonna's inner turmoil." The Hollywood Reporter: "Madonna has pretty much perfected the art of mass entertainment with a hint of scandal." The Daily Mail: "The Queen of Pop certainly put on a good show." Boyculture (Blog): "So theatrical, elegant and s-xy...I called it Girlie Show 2.0!" Idolator: "She seems as game as ever to make sure her fans have an amazing time." MumbaiBuzz: "Dark, surreal and pulsating with Madonna’s indescribable energy this was a production of an unfathomable scale and caliber." Metro.co.uk: "Madonna has successfully managed to deliver the usual dose of controversy to her hotly anticipated world tour MDNA which kicked off in Tel Aviv." Digital Spy: "Madonna knows how to put on a show." The National (AE): "The Greatest Show On Earth." BuzzFeed: "She cheers! She strips! She REPRISED THE CONE BRA! These are incredibly important moments in diva fashion history." PerezHilton: "Nobody puts on a show quite like Madonna! No one even comes close!" Spitsnieuws (NL): "She puts other younger female popstars to shame!" Adjusted tour gross : $313.52 million There's only one queen...and that's Madonna. retroglamx 5,177
I agree that Rebel Heart was not her best effort but Hard Candy? Really? Yes, (in my opinion) Hard Candy was a really good, fun, urban inspired album. Well I actually take back that bit (sorta) You make good and completely understandable points. She's been 'full of herself' for a long time but the difference then was the music, performances and messages backed it up to the point where it was understandable. Of course, no one can deny Madonna's power in pop culture but during these past two albums she has relied way too much on her legendary status, forgetting almost completely that the music scene has changed drastically in the past 5 years and unfortunately putting your name in front of an cd case just won't do anymore. In this time and age people need to promo and to promo hard. Taylor Swift didn't sell a million copies of RED and 1989 ont their debut week by sitting next to her cats and tweeting people about the album (not saying that Madge did that). She went out, she promoted and she sold her album. Madonna on the other hand needs to step up her promo game. Whatever she's doing lately just feels lazy and we know she can do much better. Pink flamingos always fascinated me.

GagaMyBlood95 9,915
Except MDNA wasn't a flop sales wise. I wouldn't say a flop, that's a strong word, but it had.. bellow-expectation sales with all the discounts and giveaways.
