We haven't seen her writing rock yet though, so for all we know she's better at rock than she is at pop .

Well, except maybe if you want to count Yoü and I, which is an amazing song (especially live).

I cant wait for her salsa album!!! For all we know she might be better at salsa than she is at pop or rock.

I cant wait for her salsa album!!! For all we know she might be better at salsa than she is at pop or rock.

She hasn't written rock yet, but she has:

- Spoken about her seeing herself as a rockstar rather than a pop star

- Implemented rock influences throughout her discography

- Consistently uses rock instrumentals in her live shows

- Done numerous rock covers, especially at the end of her ArtRAVE (you know, her most recent tour), but also at other events

- Spoken up about her mostly being inspired by male rock icons such as Freddie Mercury, Bruce Springsteen, etc., and has collaborated with many of them.

- Grew up listening to rock music, as her dad was into it

- Has shown great enjoyment of metal music, visiting metal concerts

- Wears a ton of rock-related gear and band t-shirts in her free time

- Was in a rock band in her younger years

- Many rock stars have spoken up about her talents concerning rock music

- I could name more

Please enlighten me about her affinity with salsa :hunty:

I'd be here for a rock-influenced album or a rock album.

The current pop scene is full of electronic music and it's getting boring tbh. It needs a break.

And mess @ some people here thinking rock = metal/screamo :saladga:

The only salsa I want gaga to make

I liked the last album (except for dope & J&D), what I don't really like is Gaga's attitude lately. I used to have so much faith in her and then she disappointed me so many times

I want to be blown away by her again

And yes of course I can't like everything she does, there are other artists to enjoy also and I do

It's because you notice her every move and words 24/7 for so long actually.

Honestly, I think all she would need would be a collab with a rock band or something. Rock fans might be a little hesitant to listen to it, but I think it would have that "Lady Gaga has a song with ---?!" fsctor so people would at least check it out.

This would be a good place to start. I think if she did stuff like this first to gain momentum in that genre and show rock fans who may not be as aware of her rock past, influences, and history that she genuinely has the interest and the talent to do it, she could move into that genre quite well.

I have been saying a rock/hard rock/heavy metal album is a good idea ever since 2009. I have been waiting for it but it never comes. I love the cheek to cheek album because its real, but at this point I don't think ill ever be satisfied with a rock/hard rock/metal album unless she goes all in with it. I don't know what im doing on this website

True. I just don't know i would love a rock album from Gaga. It would all depend what kind of rock it specifically was. If it was Fall Out Boy kind of rock then it'd be cool, but if it was like heavy metal stuff I don't think I'd be too into it

I would still love and respect her, but I just don't think I'd buy it

MESS. Some of you are just expressing what YOU would like to hear/see, this isn't directed at you. The others, though...how can you be a Monster and say you know Gaga, then say "she needs to do this" "GP this, GP that" like do you think she cares about being popular? She'll make enough money to live off of and live lavish. She's been doing almost solely Jazz for the past year or so and she's filthy rich. She has a lot of supporters now and no matter what her next "move" is she WILL get backlash.

If she does pop it'll be "Man, she's throwing away all that potential for basic pop again"

If she does rock it'll be "What is she thinking?!"

If she continues to do Jazz it'll be "God! So boring! Bye!"

In the end, you're either here for her or you're not. Oh, to the person who said we wouldn't love her if it wasn't for the music, you don't speak for me. I thought she was cool and all but when I actually became a real fan, it was thanks to the Jamey tribute and how she preached self love and kindness. I fell in love with the woman, not the music. The music is the plus in my eyes. The fact that we have a caring, kind, talented, and relatable woman that is such a force in the world is the main point to me.

And if you don't support her for her next album, for whatever reason, then there's the door :bye: Don't let it hit you on the Perez on your way out.

You can quote me next time.
Most of the people just want her to do what she's been doing until now, and that is pop music in all the forms she has presented to us. It's the people that want her to do rock, heavy metal, etc that want her to change and be someone else. Ok, she's great doing rock, jazz and everything else. "But she loves rock, she has always listened to rock, she has rock roots" doesn't mean she HAS to do a rock album because of that. She's been doing jazz "since she was 13"; does that mean she should have started jazz and do just that for her whole life? She loves jazz and did a side project. Perfect move. She might as well release a rock album as a side project. She's getting good reviews for all the covers she did and the vocals live, but that doesn't mean people will continue to listen to her just because of that. They know Gaga for what she's done till now, pop music. She loves pop, she said in many interviews that she loves pop and said "Pop music will never be low brow". Why shouldn't she keep doing that?
Like, you criticize people that want her to stay true to who she really is. And then you want her to change and do something else, like you didn't like what she's done till now.
It's not like I don't want a rock album, it's just that she can do that as a side project or later in her career when she gets older, being rock a genre that can fit better her age.
If you want to listen to rock there are a lot of artists out there. Lady Gaga is a brand, want it or not.
Her brand gives work to a lot of people, don't think she has all that freedom to do whatever she wants.
You said that you became a fan after the Jamey tribute; how did you know about the tribute since it was done on her tour? for knowing about that means that you already liked her enough to search for her. And why did you search for her? because of the music. And what kind of music did she do? Yeah, pop music.
So the reason you were able to find what a great person she is and you're here now, is because of the music.
And be sure that she, like every other human being, cares about being popular. Maybe you don't remember the meltdowns she had in 2013-2014 (no, it wasn't just because of the situation with the management).
Don't forget that being popular let's you reach a larger audience, and so more people can listen to what you do. And she'll have a larger audience also for her preaching self love and acceptance. You make look being popular as a bad thing, like, what?
And being a fan doesn't mean I have to like everything she does and say, I'm not a sheep. If I like what she does I'll support her buying her albums and tickets for her shows, otherwise, I'll still keep following what she does and look for her and wait her next project.

...I think you already know where the door is ;)

I think she could make a great rock album, or a more rock influenced pop album.

The only problem i've had with her pop albums is how they process her vocals, I prefer her live performances because of that, and it's also why I liked C2C.

I'd like to hear something like this:

I'm also in for a pop album with less produced vocals, and less EDM.

I want to see how she'd go with a heavy rock influenced electronic album- like Born This Way but even harder. I could totally see her doing something akin to Born to Run, but twisted in her own way.

3 points in and ready for more

I remember when bands like No Doubt, Linking Park, Evanescence, RHCP, GNR etc were all over MTV, that was the most popular music, but it was rock. I want that time back. :crossed:

OMG Best days of my life, 90's were awesome too, No Doubt, Garbage, Courtney Love, Korn, Lenny Kravitz, Bjork, **** like that gave me so much ****ing life
