ARTPOPdidntflop 3,987
Where someone wants to put their genitals does not determine their intellectual understanding of an artist . Plenty of straight people love her to bits, and plenty of gay people don't like her at all. A ton of members on this site are straight as well. It's a stereotype. Edit: oh my god I made the most horrible mistake in this post, so hopefully nobody noticed what it was before the edit Lmao you're completely missing the point, I never said they did Stop misinterpreting and misquoting me so I don't have to keep writing replies It is a FACT, proportionately there are more gay people than straight people that love lady gaga and researched her and the backround and meaning of her work after they've seen her on concerts or heard her on the radio... If I was to say :"I love lady gaga" to most people, they would question my s-xuality if they thought I was straight. I guess your grindr comes up empty at a lady gaga concert, right....? A lot of Gay people are connected to the way she holds her self, her theatrics, creativity and her love for the LGBT community and her shot-down-get-back-up attitude. ALSO Plenty of straight people love her to bits, and plenty of gay people don't like her at all. A ton of members on this site are straight as well. It's a stereotype. HAAHAHAHH, straight girls maybe? Please name me more than 10 straight men on this site omg im dying LMAO mess Gaga x Nicki x Azealia x Ariana x Kesha x Bey

Easto 143
Am I the only one who is worried about similar posts on a FAN forum? I really appreciate that we are not blind and delusional fans in general and we do criticise Gaga's work but sometimes I believe we go too far. I'm sure that all of you who trash ARTPOP would defend it if someone attacks it outside the fan base! How was my post going too far? I simply shared my opinion on ARTPOP, and it happened to be a not so positive opinion. Every artist I love has at least one album I'm not huge on so it's not like I'm ripping it apart because it "flopped commercially" or whatever dumb reason people usually have for dragging ARTPOP. And for the record I don't care enough about the opinions of other fanbases to get bothered over what negative opinions they may have on Gaga and her work. Riot Poof 2,236
I agree with your general sentiment. But the GP didn't hear ARTPOP though. And the two songs that they did get a chance to hear, "Applause" and "Do What U Want", are surprisingly well-liked.Well, you can't love an album you haven't heard. What you described is still a form of indifference. The GP were able to hear 2 out of 3 singles off of ARTPOP... and yet they never bothered to listen to the rest of the album. Anybody with Internet access had a chance to listen to ARTPOP. It's not like it was a TIDAL exclusive. If it was a priority to them, they would've listened to it and formed an opinion on it. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

Like you said: GP heard two songs of ARTPOP but they didnt even bother to buy the album, meaning that maybe those 2 singles didnt pick their interest enough or werent good enough, even though i love both songs! PopBitch 1,218
I think people here cling to heavily to the management argument. Yes it was an issue, but they talk as though if she had great management that ARTPOP would have been the smash era to end all eras and that's just not true the music itself was just not that great. People generally don't follow eras. They don't really know if this performance on some radio talk show was bad or what she said in this random interview, but if the music itself is good people will listen. There's a reason she, Katy, and Miley all generally received the same critical reviews This.

Which leads me to believe that it was Gaga they weren't interested in, not necessarily the music.

VasilisVas 5,140
ARTPOP was overhyped and the album being one big complete disaster (for me at least). I haven't listened to that album in over a year and i don't miss it. meanwhile, i still find myself having a blast still listening to songs from tf, tfm, and btw years later. i remember stating ARTPOP was a huge letdown of an album and getting dragged for it except for about 2 songs or so. GagaMyBlood95 9,915
If you compare it to some other albums that slayed (in sales) in 2013/2014, you wouldn't be saying this..

The outlook is bright for her and her future releases. I live outside the space time continuum.
rafscesar 0
I feel like ARTPOP would be so much better if Gaga would've stick to its original concept. Do you guys remember Princess Die? And how personal, yet relatable it was? And how it was about the decay of a popstar or whatever? Princess Die it's perfect and lyrically so much better than any song on ARTPOP tbh. Also, remember how Gaga used to talk about how ARTPOP would have two sides, a commercial and an experimental side? And how every song would have a video? A year later Beyonce did that and it was a sucess. Now, i'm not saying it would've sold 1m on its first week or have a number one hit, but at least we would have such a quality album. Anyway it's not Gagas fault I still love ARTPOP, it's a great album to listen to while you're getting ready to go out...

Gaga having all the great ideas and people stealing from her, whats new unfortunately? :( I'm sure it would have been a success. However, we will never see it :/
