Prismatic 4,789
What is this excuse ? It doesnt take away the fact that Prism IS indeed horrible album. That's your opinion. I feel like they keep nominating her because she has been so successful in the GP, but to actually win the award you have to deliver the goods. I don't think Katy has had a grammy worthy song yet tbh. She is good at what she does, but its not Grammy type quality. I mean....Madonna was snubbed by the Grammys for 20 years despite being the biggest and longest reigning pop start to walk the planet. And madonna actually had some noteworthy stuff during that time. I'm sorry....I just don't think she will win a grmmy for Dark Horse. It's a typical pop song layed over a catchy trap beat. What's spectacular about that? There's like 3 or 4 songs that songs so similar to Dark Horse. I Only Stan For Risk Takers
MonsterOfSpain 8,279
well the critics say so I was waiting for you to bang the gong.
Valextra 58
In both the cathgories in which she is nominated there are people who deserves it more tbh. Christina Aguilera and A great Big World need to win in that cathegory imo instead of 'Dark Horse'. http://youtu.be/-2U0Ivkn2Ds While on 'Best Pop Vocal Album' I don't think so, Ariana and Sam Smith deserves more, and also Ed Sheeran I think is favorite. HighwayGuy 1,498
The Grammys have gotten more like the MTV award shows every year becoming more about success rather than talent, so i wouldn't be surprised tbh
elijahfan 24,921
She should be thankful that they nominate her. Come on.... everybody has Grammys nowadays, why not her?
Haroon 49,685
I really hope so PRISM was one of the best albums of 2013 and I think it deserves the award Dark Horse is pretty awesome so I have faith that it may win its award too. If she doesn't then it's not a big deal, maybe next time Katy's got bigger fish to fry anyway, like her Superbowl performance and extending The Prismatic World Tour (I'M PRAYING  )
Putin 0
What do you expect? Something artist and godly like Gaga? So do you want a meaningful and touching lyrics while listening to a bop? I doubt anything will pay attention to boppy song lyrics because they're too busy dancing to it. If you want something mature and touching and emotional, try the second half of PRISM. And "Baby we got bad blood" witty... Yasss super witty. Just compare Roar and Shake it Off - two mainstream self-power anthems. Katy solely relied on awful old cliches which could be written by any kid - Like thunder gonna shake the ground; Now I’m floating like a butterfly; Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes;I went from zero, to my own hero... On contrary Taylor was able to input her personal experience (about news and their fake stories about her boyfriends, her awkardness, low mental skills...) to create more human, more personal song which will more influence the listeners. Where is exactly Katy´s artistic input ? Every song has like 5 - 7 co-writers. Every song could be written literally by anyone, she has no specific writing style. Her voice sounds good only when its enhanced by computers, but sucks live. What exactly should I stan for if I were an artist K. Perry´s fans ? 1989 is perfect example of mainstream but still personal record. Katy with her no talent would never be able to push it. Sorry, but she doesnt deserve any acclaim for her work and Grammy committee clearly sees it.

But you know, I feel like Grammys and Oscars and stuff mean less and less as time goes by when it comes to quality.... It's all political in the end. VforVendetta 2,024
Come on.... everybody has Grammys nowadays, why not her? That's true but it doesn't mean that she has to get one as well. Of course, if they are gonna give Anacoda a Grammy then she deserves a few but it's not a right way of thinking. She wouldn't get a nomination if she wasn't that famous anyway. Gagz 2,572
She deserves Grammys ? For what actually ? That horrible, 61-metascore album ? ARTPOP is as horrible as Prism indeed. The Dark Horse metaphor doesnt even make any sense in the song, the lyrics are atrocious. The dark horse metaphor makes perfect sense though. :awkney:
retroglamx 5,101
She's all looks. :eyesrolled: People like her music and it's not point arguing with Monsters because they always assume/claim that Katy has no talent and her voice is bad... Singing pop song isn't her best, but she sounds amazing during acoustic. I don't particularly agree with you. I'm not a fan of her voice, though I do love some of her songs. I just don't see her work worthy of a Grammy. and the Grammys are a joke now but her body of work is still way too weak. Pink flamingos always fascinated me. Sorry, but she doesnt deserve any acclaim for her work and Grammy committee clearly sees it. Have you heard of any of Katy's songs that's not on the radio. Her radio songs are there because they're friendly, easy to remember and fun to sing alone. If you put out something abstract and different, I doubt it'll be on people's mind and will listen to it so often (because it's difficult to understand). Anyway, how is Roar not personal "I let you push me past the breaking point/I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything" this can be refer back to one of Katy's past relationship as well. 'Roar' does impact and influence people differently for each person. Katy's self-empower song is about being strong and stand up for the people who dislike you or hurts you, while Taylor's about ignoring the people are hates you. Her live is not amazing, but not the worst. How many time do I have to say this, LISTEN TO HER ACOUSTIC SET. SHE SOUND SO MUCH STRONGER AND CONFIDENT IN THAT SIDE. People stan for her for various of reasons just like Gaga. Katy's music saved some people's live (like me) or make them gain more confident or just deliver some catchy bops. It's different for each person. Ummmm... PRISM is personal though... but other than the first half of the album, it's not radio friendly Taylor's 1989 was targeted for radio, it's main purpose to to deliver fun and catchy songs. Katy no talent yeah... she wrote the first whole album pretty much by herself and most of PRISM (the second half by herself) I don't particularly agree with you. I'm not a fan of her voice, though I do love some of her songs. I just don't see her work worthy of a Grammy. and the Grammys are a joke now but her body of work is still way too weak. Guess we have different opinions in her voice, but denying her talent and hard work is rude. Same Plus if she adds more dates then she can make the $200M milestone And top someone you know who I Only Stan For Risk Takers
