Been listening to this all day long trying to get myself into it. I worked out to Birthday and This is How We Do. Love them!

So far, I'm very disappointed with Unconditionally. I was very hyped for it, for that a lot of reviews said it was Teenage Dream 2.0. I fell in love with TD from the first listen. I remember how it gave me chills and I teared up listening to it. That is how much I love that track.

So when listening to Unconditionally, I was expecting that. Did not happen.  :noparty:

International Smile is so catchy. I very much like it.

By The Grace of God is fine. I am pretty sure it will grow on me.

Choose Your Battles is my favorite of the second half off of the album. :flutter:

Overall, it is a good album. I am glad I pre-ordered it. :)

My review.

PRISM = Katy at her basicness :emma:

It's not as good as TD. The lyrics are great but the sound of the album is pretty basic (blame Dr. Luke). Katy and Ke$ha should give up on him tbh.

There's some good songs but a lot and lot of filler songs.

And I will never understand why did she choose Unconditionally as the 2nd single when it's one of the weakest songs from the album. :fail:

Legendary Lovers is the best song from PRISM.

Other good songs: This Is How We Do, International Smile (Ke$ha rip off), Roar, Dark Horse, Walking On Air.

I give the album 6/10.

I think people think the album sounds the same the whole way through because they choose to Because they hate on Katy for her success I listen deeply to the music and see the difference in all the songs and the changes Katy has to her voice in each song

I certainly dont hate Katy, and this is my completely unbiased opinion, but this album just plain sucked.

Walking on Air SLAYS! but everything else is just so mediocre. Dark Horse is a mess, Roar sounds like it fits on Teenage Dream and the rest is just boring slow songs that all sound the same :/

Sorry Katy :/

Similar to Teenage Dream, PRISM has a formidable opening combination. Aside from the smash hit which is Roar, Katy's ensured to remake TD's string of hits with Legendary Lovers (surprisingly better than the snippet), the obvious smash material Birthday, followed by the equally party booster Walking On Air, then the 2nd single Unconditionally which has grown on me after a few listens, and this album's own ET, well at least for me, the promo single Dark Horse. It's a solid first 6.

From there, Ghost ironically brought back a new life for the album, after two Dr. Luke tracks which I find not that interesting. If you're a fan of Waking Up In Vegas, I think you'd also like International Smile. And then there's Love Me which I hardly love at all. However, things would change once again as the last three songs made up of This Moment, Double Rainbow, and By The Grace of God would remind her fans, err at least those who love her prior to the success of TD, why they love Katy Perry in the first place. I'd say those three are among her best on the entire album. She gave the best of the two worlds with PRISM - the catchiness of TD and the likability of One of the Boys. 8.5/10 for me.

The only good songs on Prism are Legendary Lovers, Walking on Air, Dark Horse, and Spiritual. End of story.

Have it not directly faced Blurred Lines, Roar would have spent more weeks at the top of the HOT 100 chart. It's a shame that despite its massive sales, it only managed to get a 2-week stint. But anyway, congratulations to her! Looking forward to the future singles.

I would say it doesn't have the hits Teenage Dream has, but has potential growers, and it's far more homogeneous than TD.
