Girls with big breasts get flak for looking too s-xy, when they just wear the same outfits other girls wear. It's like they're supposed to go to extra effort to not show their curves. Surely the logical idea would be to get with someone who's the polar opposite of them? Katy's at an age now where this kind of thing is only going to hold back her life's plan. She's said that she does want marriage and children (though Russell supposedly wanted children now and she wasn't ready just yet as she was still on the sugar rush of Teenage Dream and wanted to keep promoting and having fun) and being with a man who is clearly not into either of those things could potentially result in her wasting time with a man who was never going to give her what she wanted. It's sad when someone wastes years of their life on a person who wasn't on the same page as them. What's worse is when they acknowledge this but keep persevering in the hope things will change. I notice also that Katy seems to aim for men older than her (Travie was 3 years older, Russell 9 years older, John 7 years). I couldn't help but imagine that this gap was partly to blame for her and Russell's split - at nearly a decade older than her, he was at a stage where he was definitely ready for kids. But her still being in her 20's, maybe didn't want to be a mum when she still was so young. If she was Russell's age, she likely would have been all too happy to start a family immediately. John's comments about previous exes suggest that he does take the kiss and tell approach and Katy's already been through that with Russell - she doesn't need it again. What I'm also thinking is that if they do break up, the press and the public won't feel sorry for her. She dated a man who's notorious for being a womaniser (just like her ex husband), so what did she expect? We gave her support when she released Part Of Me, her first single post-split. But there was controversy about this. It was widely rumoured that she was capitalising on the split for another hit single considering that the song wasn't even an out-take from the album or a new song - it was an old demo. Wide Awake also had references to her divorce (about if she knew then what she did now, she wouldn't have jumped in so fast) and featured a not so subtle reference to the divorce in the video. Then Roar was the ultimate middle finger to Russell. But it was also when the public started having enough of her constantly bringing the whole thing up. Maybe this was partly the reason why Unconditionally failed? Maybe another breakup/rebound song was just too much to take? She has to be careful that she doesn't go the same route if she does break up with John. She doesn't want to be the next Taylor Swift and have her music defined by who she's dating/just broke up with (how fitting that she dated John too). The public gets tired of Moaning Minnies.
