Your statement insinuated that Katy wasn't copying Gaga, which I disagreed with.

Would you like it if someone copied you on numerous times and eventually exceeded your success?

The things she "copies" are never anything big. A face really isn't going to make a career. Katy was successful before Gaga came into the music industry. Katy isn't successful because she does similar things as Lady Gaga.

Playing devil's advocate here, but most people won't get far in the industry with that attitude. Just make the occasional friend and make sure it's the real deal, but don't get too pally with everyone and even worse, assume that all these friendships are real and that you're all girls in this together. Celebrity "friendships" are for the most part, a lot of fakery purely for artistic purposes. Notice how a lot of singers feature an artist on their song and they're best friends during the song's promotion but afterwards, they seem to lose contact? Or when two actors are love interests in a movie, they may give the illusion of an off-screen romance, only for things to be "over" as soon as the movie's run its course? When someone or something is not commercially viable anymore, celebrities move on to what will further their career next. Wanting to be true friends with everyone in that world is ridiculously naive. Quite frankly, I wouldn't want to be friends with a lot of celebrities. A lot of them have done horrible things or are secretly horrible people, not to mention, to have made it this far, they'll have had to be ruthless in lots of ways. So, if you're famous and someone else famous steals your idea, don't become friends with them, call them out on it. It's an industry where you have to fight to keep your career alive, so don't let others take your spot by plagiarising your work. Being too nice can result in backstabbing in this business. Sure, it's not healthy to hate everyone and get worked up over every little thing, but you shouldn't be too nicey nice either. Notice how so many of the current generation of successful pop girls are rather shady? It's because nice girls finish last most of the time.
