Part of me ( :fat: ) wishes she had kept the dak album. We would've gotten some angry and sad songs....her divorce was so heartbreaking, it would've been an amazing album. That being said, I AM happy she saw the light and was able to make a mostly happy album about her experience AFTER divorce. Writing the sad angry album would've been the easy way out.

But still, I'd like to hear it eventually ;D

So basically we all know the Teenage Dream Era was one of the most successful musical offerings it broke records earned awards and on. The background of the album did sound very pop driven and commercially prepared to become a mainstream hit.

But now Katy's dropping a new album , she did say it was gonna be dark , yet Roar is something no where near dark and just as bright as a TD song. I FEEL/THINK PRISM is a mature version of Teenage Dream that's it, its gonna do really well with its singles trust me. But where's the risk here , Gaga came out with BTW, Judas which was a leap away from her commercial stuff. I would like to see Katy do rock pop maybe or aim for something miles away from her comfort zone.

And by the way I FEEL/THINK Prism is re-exploring songs from Teenage Dream in a mature manner

Roar=The new California Girls as described by Bonnie McKee+(both songs are about self praising)

Unconditionally=The new Teenage Dream as described by Billboard (both songs are about immense love)

Double Rainbow=The new firework (I bet the song is just as uplifting as firework hence the title itself)

Dark Horse=The new E.T (I mean c'mon both explore magic and have that supernatural sense)

Birthday=The new Last Friday Night I got that impression by the way billboard described it ( both are songs about partying hard)

Ghost=The new The One That Got Away the lyrics say it all ("We were best friends... now, you're just a ghost,")

Choose Your Battles= The new Part Of Me (I just took a guess with this one I have a feeling its a fighter sprit song)

By The Grace Of God=The new Wide Awake the lyrics say it all ("By the grace of God/I picked myself back up/I put one foot in the front the other,")

Maybe I'm reaching but those are the impressions I got from this

Thoughts?? Do you think Katy's pulling off another TD?

PoshLife

This just leads me to believe that she's trying to replicate her past success by playing it safe and exploring no new ground. Relying so heavily on your past work - practically replicating it, really - isn't art. Compare it to Gaga who knows when to leave the past in the past and actually do something new and exciting.
