StrawberryBlond 14,678
Some people are really getting carried away with this. Not about the quality of the music (which I've still yet to hear, so this view isn't based on that) but about how much Beyonce has made an impact. Any huge mainstream act would have had this same reaction if it were them. Some of you are acting as if Beyonce is the only one who could have impact with this marketing strategy. She was just lucky to do it first. 2013 was the year of surprise release schedules - David Bowie and Justin Timberlake announced out the blue that they were releasing an album in month or two, Justin went on to release a part 2, Jay-Z also made a sudden album announcement and had an app format, Gaga released an album (also on an app format) and immediately talked about an act 2 next year, Justin Bieber released a new song every Monday and just announced he'll be releasing his album (including the mentioned songs) on the 16th and now Beyonce's releasing her album on the day she announces it. Beyonce was actually the very last in a long list of off-the-wall music release choices this year. Her idea may be original, but she wasn't the only one who came up with the idea to release music a different way this year. And on that point, I highly doubt all this was her idea. I hardly think someone who steals people's songs and passes them off as her own and recycles the same concepts over and over again is the one fully in charge of their career choices. But if you notice about everyone you just said, yeah they suddenly announced something but it was going to be released later. Beyoncé however didn't announce anything and released it on the day of. Kind of contradicted yourself.

Juanjo 2,073
Just realized she took over all the banners on iTunes! This b*tch snatching all sorts of weaves! ...It sounds and looks so good, though. You, go, Bee! This album is what gaga should have done to ARTPOP, not with the surprise release, but the visual album part with all the videos done, maybe as a short film that's interrelated. I agree. And feature the app, more. Get people more involved. Oh, Interscope, what are we gonna do with you.
