This is what you can achieve when you're not a 15-joints-a-day pothead.

Yet I feel Beyonce's new album is kind of for blunt lovers, lol.

It's not harmless to feminism at all. Bow Down is telling all her haters to bow down... Bow Down Bitches. Now a days, "b---hes" doesn't even mean "female." And if you're labeling a "b---h" to only a female, then you're being s-xist in a way. So she sort of saves herself there. In the last part of the song, "flawless," I don't see how that's harmful at all. It's confident if anything, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Not really; that's how the word is used. When you call a guy a b---h, you're saying he's weak and subservient... the implication being he's effeminate. Women who get called b---hes are not accused of being subservient but of being jerks (the word also tends to be used to describe a woman you don't like or a woman you want to degrade). Calling a woman a b---h to mean that she's subservient would be a relatively recent phenomenon and not as widespread as the original usage.

In addition, the word b---h was exclusively to refer to women in a derogatory way; the recent expansion to "subservient person" is based on the idea of women being subservient. So if you call a man a b---h in an insulting way, the implication is that he's womanly, which is bad.

Now, some women want to reclaim "b---h" the way some black people want to reclaim "n-----." Some women call each other b---hes with absolutely no harmful intent. They may even call a male friend a b---h and he can call them b---hes... if they're friends and it's acknowledged that it's okay. A random guy calling that woman a b---h is still trying to insult her. Some women don't think the word b---h is ever okay to use because of how it's used to degrade women and that we should try to eliminate it. The issue of whether b---h is acceptable or not is not a clear cut one.

I haven't heard the song or speech, so I can't add much to the topic. I can say that practically every pop star that talks about feminism talks about it in a pretty superficial, easily digestible way (basically it's either girl power or the idea that being a strong woman means being independent of men and doing masculine things). Some people here were saying Beyonce is attributing qualities like power to female roles like motherhood, and I'd say that's a good thing. Not a ~deep~ feminist critique, but it's good to have female qualities eulogized so that men and women don't have to feel ashamed of having them.

Beyonce have been feminist since day one, otherwise she won't have that

all women band as her touring band for years now.

Apparently, not everyone is a fan of Beyoncé's latest masterpiece.

Target has released a statement revealing that they will not be carrying Bey's new self-titled album on their shelves. Why would they do such a thing?! Well, because she opted to release her mega-hit album exclusively online first.

"At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections," Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski tells Billboard.

She continued, "While there are many aspects that contribute to our approach and we have appreciated partnering with Beyonce in the past, we are primarily focused on offering CDs that will be available in a physical format at the same time as all other formats. At this time, Target will not be carrying Beyonce's new self-titled album 'Beyonce.'"

Queen B proved just how much star power she had by secretly releasing the 14-track and 17-video visual album exclusively on iTunes at approximately midnight on Friday, and completely went against the way music is usually released. Jay Z's wife squashed traditional new music procedures, going without any hype, social media presence or promotions for the new body of work entirely.

Regardless, her latest creation is a huge success. B sold an astounding 80,000 copies in the first three hours alone and has already reached the 500,000 mark.

Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen
