That's a bit hypersensitive.

It's a creative choice. Haven't they made movies about the explosion? Isn't that just as "insensitive"?

Honestly, I love that bit of XO and I live in the NASA area where most of the workers live. I don't find it disrespectful at all.

:ohno:  :ohno:   i think i worded incorrectly again ...  sorry  if my post came the wrong way.

On topic:  idk  i don't think this is one of those cases when people act oversensitive.  This was a really big deal when it happned  (i saw pictures in sequence when it exploded, it was really devastating)  obviously this familiar audio could have touched a sensitive spot in all those families.

I love XO, but I can't at those saying they are "too sensitive."

THEY LOST LOVED ONES to this accident. To gloss over that and call their legit concerns as "sensitivity" is not only disrespectful to those that died, but to those that they left behind.

Wow, I really did not expect something like this from Beyonce.  It's completely tasteless :(  She could have very easily created fake audio that essentially said the same thing to use in the song or taken a clip from a disaster movie or something.  I cannot believe she used real audio from the Challenger explosion.

It's absolutely not "hyper sensitive" or "dramatic" for people to be upset, especially those directly affected by the tragedy or working with NASA.  Imagine if she had instead used a real 911 call from a shooting or audio from a natural disaster or a bomb explosion.  Unless your project donates the profits to help those affected by the tragedy and is about that tragedy, I find it extremely insensitive and even ignorant to use something like that.  I'm disappointed that this is coming from Beyonce and that so many people are defending it.  You must be very desensitized to (and I say this because I'd like to believe that it's not because you don't care) disaster and violence when you act like something like this audio clip is just a soundbite that can be used in a pop song.  It's much more than that.

all of this! Esp. the bolded!

CANNOGABANG

The second one someone using something gay-sensitive words and those thread will become 10 pages of cries and meltdown.

As cool as the clip might sound, it's still sensitive to those who were from its actual situation (OH that sounds familiar, does it homos-xuals?)

I can't with this board. I'd like to know if your father or mother were in that accident you would still feel they were being hypersensitive.

I mean I do understand that the families are upset and it is something that can cause pain but I'm pretty sure Beyonce is not insensitive and def didn't mean to hurt anyone's sentiments.

Kinda ****ed up, their would be outrage if it was from a more recent event such as the Newtown School shootings, but I also think some people here are searching for reasons to bash Beyonce
